Description It was midday when the young Guardian heard the call in his heart, that bore the long dreaded message he had hoped not to hear for at least another thousand years, or more.

His master was finally dying.

Ever since he was first saved by the God of Thunder as his home of Atlantis fell to the first Gyaos horde, and his own mother and father died along with the remaining Gamera species attempting to stop them, the youngest of all had found himself in the care of the gentle god. A god, who drove away the Gyaos that could have killed him, and took the young Gamera in to raise in safety - and secrecy. Though not of the greatest intellect, Agro's wisdom, and compassion has proven to rival even that of The Divine Moths in their pinnacle of knowledge, and wisdom. For a thousand years, Agro has taught the young one, who he named Toto, to harness his abilities to the best of his abilities, including the art of harnessing the living source, which is known to them as Mana. A skill Toto's race was the most adept in.

In that time, Toto had grown into a proud, strong Gamera, with a strong sense of justice, and compassion for the innocent. Now, as he soared through the ocean depths, and to the surface, he began to feel a small pang of fear, and doubt with the knowledge of his surrogate father's passing. But he would not allow him to pass on alone. Not after all he had done for him in the ages they had known each other. And soon enough he reached the largest cave on an island near the Scandinavian coast, where the God of Thunder made his home.

"Master!" Toto cried out, huffing out of light exertion as he entered the cave. "M-...master?"

"At the time when the Forty Spheres align........" came the weakened, and aged voice of Agros, who was now laying on a rocky bed, with his color all but drained.

The sight of his beloved master in such a worn down state broke Toto's heart. But he reigned in his emotions, so that he would heed anything his master said. "Master?" he said once more, his tone carrying concern for the Old God, who now noticed he was here. "Gamera-ling, you are in great....danger...........and I must leave you now."

Toto's eyes widened in shock. "Leave?" So it was really true. Even so, Toto's head shook in disbelief, as he exclaimed, "Master, no! You can't leave now!"

"I'm afraid it isn't up to me, Toto." Agro said shakily. "But.....that doesn't mean....i'm going to.......leave things com....pletely......to fate. I have.....told you of.....the Umbra'Malum, yes?"

Toto grew slightly angered at the mere mention of that accursed name, as a growl escaped his maw. "Yes, master: they influenced the humans of Atlantis to create the Gyaos. Then used them to hunt down every last human, and my own kind. Those winged abominations might have done the deed......but the Umbra'Malum was really responsible. They killed my mother - and my father. They died protecting me." Toto said with a somber tone.

"And yet, the story....runs deeper than you know. You have....so much more to learn...and ........so little time left. Soon you.......and the Monster King will become.....targets of the Vashtar's disciples."

"I-.....*sigh* I don't understand."

Agros sighed heavily as he said, "The Umbra'Malum, once...they learn of your existence..... will vow......to destroy you."

The terrapin godling had a greatly confused look on his face. "But......why?"

"Because, youngling, of the great prophecy." Agros answered somewhat vaguely. "The prophecy, which says that you, and the son of the King must restore the shard." He then used what strength he had to create a projection of a diamond-shaped crystal in the electrical field held in his hand. "The Crystal Shard. But......to reclaim the shard, you must first.......find, and obtain....the Primal Stones, before Umbra'Malum."

Sadly, Toto only found himself confused with more questions. "Crystal shard? Primal Stones? Son of the King? Master, i-.....i don't understand any of this. I'm only a young gamera."

"And....as he who was guardian to you.........I should have told you these things.......long ago. I wanted.......to wait until you were of greater age....when perhaps you may be fully prepared. But........time is against us, it seems. Not, it is up to you, Toto." Agros then held out his trembling claw, quietly asking Toto to hold it. The gamera caught on, and quickly took his master's hand. "Find the titan who man calls "king of monsters", and.....convince him. He must aid you......in this quest. You are both destined.......to find the Primal Stones together, and restore the Crystal Shard. To save our world, and all worlds, Toto.....you must find the stones before the Umbra'Malum does......and before the Forty spheres meet." He then pulled out a glowing, yellow crystal from his right side, and presented it to Toto. The spark of Quintessence flashed through the crystal for a moment, and yet was enough time to reveal its true nature: The Primal Stone of Lightning, or Quintessence. At Agros' bidding, he took the tiny, yellow stone in his larger hand. "You must.....gather the 12 together to save all of creation. If not........the disciples of Vashtar.....will rule forever."

"And......do you really believe I can do this?" Toto asked, with a final hint of uncertainty, which surprised him when it earned him a gentle smile from Agros. "Young gamera, I....have watched over you since....you were a hatchling. And I......have raised you to be.... the greatest our world has....to offer. You have the makings of greatness in you. The skill, strength....and will to be a true...guardian. But you must......hold your head high.....and chart your own course...to do so. Believe in yourself.....and stick to it.....no matter the squalls. And when the time comes.......to truly test the limit of your strength.....and show what is in your heart," Agros took a deep breath, "then.......i hope.....my spirit will be there. .....to catch a piece of the light......coming off of you....on that day."

Toto couldn't help but let a few tears fall, as a grateful smile met that of his master. Above all else, nothing made him feel stronger than knowing the closest thing to a father he'd ever known since he lost his original family believed in him so much. And as he gazed upon the first Primal stone in his hand, he decided to believe in himself just as well. His fist clenched around it, and a determined look appeared on the terrapin's features. "Thank you, master. Now tell me where I can find this "Monster King", and the other Primal Stones."

"The stones are hidden along with the other Gods - both in this world.......and in worlds beyond. As for......the final three........Mothra holds them all." He then projected a mysterious island out at sea. "To reach him, follow......the sun to the North......follow the light that shines through for a day...to reach the home of Mothra. As for the young king.......you will know where to find him, when the time is right."

Toto nodded his head dutifully. "I understand, master. I won't fail you, or the other gods."

"Just be mindful, my lad. Not all......of the gods.....entrusted with their stones.....will be so willing......to give them up. But no matter what.......you must........obtain all of them.....to restore the Crystal Shard. Everything depends upon your success."

"Yes....master." Toto says, with but a hint of concern, before he grows sad when he sees his master wheezing, and taking harrowed breaths. He truly wished Agros didn't have to die. But in the end, even the Gods time must come to its end. Agros just struck out when he sacrificed much of his own essence to protect Toto so long ago. He felt guilty about that, but.....he learned to accept what was. Though not easily, as the case was right now.

Agros took a deep, tired sigh as he felt his time had finally come. "Remember me, Toto, in times...........when you must look within for inner strength. We may.....meet again.....in another life............but not again.........in...this.......one..........." With a final breath, Agros lay his head against the stony bed he rested upon.

And the God of Thunder breathed no more.

Toto wanted to plead for his master to wake up. To not give into the eternal sleep. But he knew that, in the end, it was completely useless. All things die when it is their time. And now, Agros can rejoin The Source, as all who move on do when they pass on. Toto at least took some solace in that. But......even so, it wasn't easy. "Goodbye......Master Agros." Toto said, as he watched the Old God's body begin to fade away into oblivion. The only evidence of his existence being a final shock in the spot he lay. "I may not fully believe i'm ready. But .....I trust in your judgement. And even if I don't fully understand, I will go where you ask, and do what you say. I only pray that The Source can give me the strength I need to succeed." His gaze then turned to the outside of the cave, and to the sea.

"Let's hope this "King of the Monsters" will be willing to aid me, with everything that's at stake."

Meanwhile, in the throne room of the Castle Qliphoth, the Lord of the Umbra'Malum, and Avatar of Darkness sat within his seat. His hands clasped together as he sat in thought. Stretching his thoughts to the world above the hollow earth region the castle was presently hidden in. Now that the ceremony was complete, he could continue checking progress on the world. What he sensed at present put a pleased smirk on his face. Even when the Dark Sorcerer entered the throne room, and disrupted his thoughts.

"You summoned me, Lord Bagan?"

Lord Bagan, as he had been addressed, sighed in his throne before speaking. "Yes. It appears the time of The Old God of Thunder has come. Agros is dead."

"Dead? Mmm."
The sorcerer hummed in intrigue. "Sounds like an interesting development, my lord."

"Indeed it is, Claudandus. There are fewer Gods on this wretched world than ever before. And ever fewer who can even hope to match us. It appears now is an excellent time to make our move."

Claudandus raised a taloned hand to his pointed chin as a thought occurred to him. "Is it perhaps anything we need inform your apprentice about?"

"Of course not. Ghidorah is where he presently belongs: at his father's side. His spell ends very soon, and it is only right that he remains by The Grand King's side when the end comes. When that time comes, we will also pay our respects, to at least remain in my protege's good graces. But do not forget that we are in an alliance, Claudandus. Neither is superior to the other, and we are in unison for our goals."

"Not that I ever question your infinite wisdom, my lord.......but do you still think it wise to be allied with a member of The Golden Demise?"

"King Ghidorah is a formidable warrior now. He has proven his metal in his final trial. Once he succeeds his father, and officially joins the Ghidoran Empire with the Umbra'Malum, we will become a greater force than anything this, or any other world could ever dare hope to challenge. *smirk* He will serve my purposes well." Bagan then rose to his full height, which towered over the shorter Claudandus. "Now, we make our first strike against humanity by lighting the spark of fear. Go to the Gyaos Horde, and send their King to Tokyo City with his armada."

"As you wish......though if asked, what should I tell him?"

Bagan now began to grin menacingly as he said, "Simply inform him.....that the Shadow of Evil's feast has begun."

"God of Thunder"

-Just like Anguirus, Agro will never back down from a fight. Agro's aggression causes himself to be more determined to win even more than Godzilla.
-Immune to ALL electrical attacks.
-Able to fire electric bolts from his tail pincers.
-Can fire a short range electromagnetic pulse from his body in a similar fashion to Godzilla's Nuclear Pulse.
-Can charge electricity through his fists to give his opponents what kaiju scientists like to call "The Electric Punch"
-Despite being heavier than the 90,000 ton Godzilla, Agro is very agile and can jump high and long distances.
-Can absorb electricity from touch. From cable wires to lightning.
