You're welcome. For anime skin, it's sufficient to apply the airbrushing technique like you did, when you want realistic looking skin tone and value. You don't need to change it unless you want to apply a painting technique.

I'm the same way. I'm completely self-taught, didn't learn from books or teachers, etc, and whatever I know is because I observed or learned on my own. However, this can only get you so far and you start to run into road blocks. I need to start using references more than I do.
I think if you used references from things that inspire you, you might get a sense of direction. Don't think of this as copying, because eventually you will go your own direction with this inspiration and it will come into it's own.
