I watched the last two episodes of Kobato last week, and it was so good. I rarely find anime that I like the ending to. Kobato's ending made me tear up. Go watch it if you haven't already! I've been planning to draw this picture since I watched it.
I'm a Fujibato fan
But I wish Kiyokazu could have been less of a jerk before the very end. I wish the manga would be updated faster ; __; hnngg.
Kobato's hair was so hard to draw >__>; It's the layers, I think. I redrew her hair countless times. Actually I redrew her countless times. The sketch took over twice as long as it usually does. Either I'm on art block again or I just suck at drawing hugging positions. Or both. Probably both.
Coloring this took a really long time too. I don't even know why. Coloring Kobato's hair took a really long time, I know, because it's so hard to color in the lines. It's really late :I I'm going to go read for hw now.

Haha yeup. I use a regular brush at around size 10 or so and just make strokes in the direction their hair is going. Or pen tool if it's not going the way I want it to

I love everything about this. The coloring is wonderful! I love how you shade the hair and put the shine on it. the background makes it look so lovely and warm and the pose pulls everything together in my opinion FFFFFFFF so beautiful okay?!
