Shoutout to WrightABook on Twitter who had the same idea as me but beat me to it and aliensasquatch who got the right but not exact idea in my Godzillasaurus drawing.
I had this idea for awhile (I think around high school 2016-2020) but never got to it. I decided to finally execute the idea ever since Godzilla VS Kong where Goji shows characteristics similar to a crocodile. Also I was inspired by Matt Frank's Legendary Godzilla Neo. I've always seen Goji as a giant crocodile and I remember reading somewhere (I think Wikizilla) when Legendary was developing Godzilla 2014, they used turtles and crocodilians as inspirations for the design of Garegoji.
My design is based on Lolong the saltwater crocodile because let's go with the biggest saltie with the eyes, body structure, & spines of Godzilla Final Wars and coloration of the Monsterverse since the 2004 Finalgoji design is completely charcoal gray and I don't my design to be all monochrome & boring. Reason I chose Finalgoji is because crocodile osteoderms are mostly the same shape throughout the body and Finalgoji's spines are mostly the same throughout his body too. Also gave him Zilla's gills because how else would he stay underwater without having to surface to breathe every other hour? The Showa, Monsterverse, & Shin Godzilla have gills to help breathe underwater.
