2014/2019 has humans who can stand and understand the king.
Ford: see the hurt king, both met eyes and understand that both are trying to save those who need them.
Mark: (Understandable) not like the king after what happens to his son but you see that he is starting to understand the king as an alpha who can keep them all safe (aka, standing up to face him twice)
Maddie:...that screen when she screeched at three headed dick. show understand that the king has come to fight.
Ishiro: Man who understand the king si what keeping us all safe. respect him and know that they are all doomed if he is not around anymore.

When I saw this part in the movie where Godzilla and Ford looked at each other,it felt like that they were feeling each others pain and that they knew time was running out for both of them.

I think Theonly other human character they probably could have used for a scene like this would be Ford and Elle's four year old son, Sam. Because the moment Godzilla notices the human "hatchling," he is reminded of the goodness and bravery that Man is capable of.

Godzilla just seemed a tad bit too benign in this movie.

Well he was there to restore balance and take back what was his, and prevent the MUTO's from overtaking the Earth. X3

I loved this film and scene. People I think are dissing this movie for the wrong reasons. Sure the movie isn't perfect (cause really what movie is?) but it's a great film. Why can't monster movies be taken seriously? Why shouldn't we be attached to the characters? I personally liked the characters of this movie. Sure Elizabeth Olsen's character didn't do much in the story, but she gave us a look at how a mother and wife would be if an event like this was happening and her husband is not around. And I think that's stupid as hell that someone compared her character to Audrey in the 98 film. Yeah she was in the movie more but doesn't mean she's like able. You want to go back to some bitch that screws you over in front of the military by stealing classified information that you were looking after just so her selfish ass can get a story on the news?! What in the hell kind of love interest is that?! Nick is lucky that they didnt lock up his ass. (Not sure if they would actually have done that but still)

I agree with ya. And no number of swear words can describe how much I hate it when the main chick in a movie is a reporter -.-

Yeah, I agree. If people complained that certain characters or certain monsters didn't have enough screen time or didn't really see the monsters fight too much, then they missed the reason why so many people liked, and even related, to this film. Also, if you look at so many of the classic monster movies. The story is not really told in the perspective of the monster. They weren't about monsters facing humans, they were about human's facing monsters.

Exactly! Audiences these days are spoiled on these explosions and stuff like the transformers movies. These movies have so much potential but they are squandered with only action for half an hour

I would. And he's lucky. The worst thing would have been execution. Meaning he would have been killed if this was worse.

No, the only thing they could have done is pull him off the project. The people knew about the monster already, locking him up would have made no difference. However, Nick did have strict instructions to not let anyone on the outside see his work, since he was under top secret clearance. All they could do was fire him for insubordination. I mean, again, He wasn't supposed to let anyone in on anything in the first place. In other words, Nick was at fault as much as Audrey.

I loved this scene so much. They had to show the innocent side of Godzilla just to show us how he is more than just a monster. This film was amazing! A true Godzilla film! You should also recreate the scene where Sam Brody is watching Godzilla fight on the TV. That woke up the kid in me with that scene.

I think this is something they failed at in '98, I know they tried to give a humanity to him, but he just feels like a big lizard in that film. This really had me connected to it instantly and that's a great idea! I was trying to think of hat to make next for Godzilla 2014 art!

I agree. I think one of the reasons it didn't work in 98 was because the film was unsure whether they wanted (God)Zilla to be sympathetic or not. One minute he is cool with Matthew Broderick, one second later he's attacking. Same with the ending in 98, one second there is a moment of silence for him, then all of sudden it's "ding dong the monster is dead." At least here, both Ford and Ishiro understood Godzilla was only here to restore balance.

And in the '98 film they repeated that, like you mentioned, trying to confuse us to either sympathize or be afraid throughout the film. This one only took about 8 seconds, but almost instantly, you feel that connection with Godzilla like in the old movies.

Oh that would be awesome you know if you read the comic awakening it shows another flying monster called shinomura
And there's an island where godzilla is an I think they called it monstra island
What do you think but if there's a trilogy on the way then the second movie will have mothra and either a new enemy or hedorah
And the third movie king ghidorah

Same
Whatn kind of ideas are you thinking off man
But as for kamacuras and spiga I doubt anyone would want to see more bugs in the next bit mecha g would be cool
But as I red through the blogs and news I think mecha g isnt going to be in it
They think it's way to futuristic to be in it that early

Yah ur right about the bug thing and mecha g but like after the events of godzilla the government in a attempt to assure that it never happens again they build a mechanical replica of goji cuz normal weapons don't work! Oh and stuff like mothra was a ancient creature before godzilla she was worshipped by a ancient civilatzation as a god or anguirus is a ancient rival of godzillas not prey a rival. I have more ideas but I'm thinking about em

all monsters have a chance but what i really am wondering about is the giant skeleton in the cave that was way older than godzilla
i wonder what monster that could be.
its either a new monster or ghidorah
and yeah i also am kinda motivated to do a comic of godzilla maybe i guess if i open up a poll it might determine it
