So yeah, ridiculous as it feels I've apparently jumped fully onboard the Kong Skull Island hype train. If you know anything about me it's that beyond my deep love for King Kong vs. Godzilla 1962 I'm really not much of a Kong fan, just never was. When it came to apes versus radioactive dinosaurs I gravitated hard toward the dinosaur, but strangely enough and maybe just because of the whole "Monsterverse" thing I am really pumped for Skull Island, so much so I saw this oversized sucker at Wal Mart and said, "Done, buying it". And amazingly he looks pretty comparable next to my giant Legendary Godzilla, Kong is just a little shorter which I think looks pretty good and what I would deem a fitting scale. So here's to Skull Island not sucking and hopefully making a crap ton of money so we can have that glorious rematch in 2020!Related content

I think Godzilla vs Kong will happen regardless Skull Island does well or not; it's more of a matter of whether it does well enough to make more Kong films sooner rather than later if it's financially successful or not. At least that's the impression I've been getting. And on the apes versus atomic dinosaurs, we're exactly the same!

I imagine you're right, they probably consider Godzilla the major money name at any rate, but I do hope Kong kicks butt at the BO just so the Hollywood types will be all, "Oh, wow, this giant monster garbage is actually worth putting more effort and money into!" I would be thrilled to at least see a healthy decade of American kaiju films while we wait to see what Japan is continuing to cook up

At the current time, no, only this and the Funko Pop figure. I'm sure more will come closer to the movie or afterwards (there were no Pacific Rim toys until after the movie came out for example), but as it stands this is pretty much it.

Well NECA came out and said they weren't making any Skull Island figures so sadly that isn't happening

I saw this toy at my job while I love the body and head design (though the head can use a little more improvement) the arms look a little off to me

I would have liked a more standard 6 inch or so Kong for the collection but unfortunately as it stands this is the only figure on the market right now for this version of Kong, so I just said "oh well, going for it". I do like having a Kong in scale with the Legendary Godzilla though, and to bounce off your remark the big figures just seem to have certain design problems, because the big Legendary Godzilla's backplates are really off compared to the movie, so you might be completely right about the arms.

All we can hope for is that S.H. Monsterarts or Figurearts gives us a King Kong figure
