Fair enough.
My theory is that, like most other incarnations, this Godzilla had already evolved over the past millennia into the present and near-future; and after so much abuse of nuclear and environmental powers, this creature awoke and began to technically "take back" the planet from mankind, us. And ever since the evacuations, this Godzilla hasn't much evolved as much as "grew" over the thousands of years.
