I started this girl a looong while ago, but I finally got around to finishing her accessories. She's currently part of a larger project. *evil glee*Too bad I didn't finish her in time for "talk like a pirate" day.
She is painted on both sides, G1 style, made from a G1 Baby MLP fakie. <3

Then it's actually even better done, usually when people customize on the original fakie body it looks very fake, but you managed to match the colours so well it still feels like a real, excellent
(If it sounds strange I'll just explain myself and say that I usually judge customs by their posibility to be "real hasbros", it's more a feel then something "proven", but anyway, it means very good from me when I say it looks lika a real, its just a personal opinion so it actually should not matter^^)

Hehe, thanks. Yeah, I usually try to make my ponies look close-to-authentic. Since the fakies are wacky colors, it can be tricky to find a color combination for them that works.
I've been avoiding doing full-body repaints so far because I hate the shiny look you get on some of them. Now that I have an airbrush and it's warm out I'm tempted to give it a try, though. Maybe I can get a nice even coat and give the pony an appropriate matte finish.

Some acrylics says "matte" (or the likes, oposite to glossy) on the "package", they usually works quite well

Oh, I know about matte finishes, I have a lot of different ones (kept looking for one that worked). But even those are much more shiny than an actual pony, save for some of the g3s.

It's a custom toy, the little duck and the hat were sculpted, the pony's body is a toy that I ripped the original hair off of, rehaired, and painted. ^_^
Hope that clears things up! I'm trying to sculpt my own ponies, but I kinda got carried away and have been sculpting tons of cats and dragons instead.

I agree that from this angle the hat's a little hard to get, but it's not a problem in the other pictures. A very cute pony!

Oh, in this photo I can't tell at all that it's a tri-corner hat. Now I know for sure that it's the angle.
In the other one you posted, I can tell perfectly, and it's very cute! If I had the talent and patience to do this kind of thing, I think I would have added an extra stitch (making them all just slightly smaller.)
But I can't think of anything else to pick at.

Haha, don't be sorry, I need that sort of feedback! I appreciate it when people tell me if something isn't quite making sense for them. I've been concerned about the appearance of the hat myself. It's tough to make a tri-corner hat that fits on a pony's head, and this was my first attempt. I'm considering making her another hat (a better one) since I'm making another pirate 'sister' to go with her.
Anyway, I'm adding detailed shots now...
