Well, this was a bit of a challenge for me, both because I'm actually not used to doing papercut designs and because doing these sorts of things with leaves means that time is of the essence.I hope it came out okay.
Maple leaf cut with xacto knife. I had an earlier attempt of this sort of thing where I used scissors, and the results weren't as nice.

I guess you could iron wax paper over it to preserve it. It is well worth the time to save your artwork when you do great works like this.

Haha yeah there are a few parts where I did that, I think! But it worked out anyway!
It's hard coming up with cut designs when you don't do it very often (which I don't). And leaves don't behave like paper and stay upright, when you slice through a leaf vein it totally collapses the leaf in some cases. So, I learned a lot from this~!

Well I have another that I'm going to post once I get a rainy day to go through old pictures! It's not as clear as this one though because I used scissors on my first attempts, and it's really the sort of thing you need an xacto knife for.

Haha yeah I'm not sure it's the strongest design for that reason, but it was largely an experiment! I tried doing another but never got to the scissoring phase with it, and the leaf kinda deteriorated. Ah well!
