I know originally is armour had a silver colour, but I allowed myself some artistic freedom about it

The armour isn't my model, but made an own texture for it to look like the iron armour.

I agree, it feels less original as it's put together of premade items, wanted to draw it years ago but had problems with the perspective and finally grabbed this theme at it's easiest and made it in 3D.

This is very well done, Looks so much like it came straight out of a remake of Blood Omen. Infact this would be great to use if Blood Omen ever got a remake. Nice work!

Yes, too bad there are almost nothing we know about his human life and personality,so he's rarely depicted. He seemed to be a less confident person as he let himself sent away from the tavern, but who knows, he may had his indepence and villainous character even as human.

Believe me, working with traditional tools has the most freedom, Daz studio is quite limited, but it's still a good thing when I have too many ideas to paint them to make a shortcut and create some of them with 3D.

I'm glad it turned out good, as for Mortanius, I wanted him look like a Ringwraith, he's much scarier if he looks like a faceless creature.

I could go all long winded, but for now I think it would suffice to call this 'nice'.
I am a little put off by the wrinkles down his sides... What are you trying to show there? His ribs? Muscle groups? It also looks like a bit of his chest plate was painted on... Then again, I know nothing about 3D art so my opinion might be valuable...
I was actually confused by this scene. Was Kain impaled on his own sword, or his assassins'? He has one identical to it, he says it will serve him in life and beyond, knows who made it, but all the while, it is described in the cut scene as the assassin's sword! Damn, I thought Defiance was shot with plot-holes...

it's armour plating on the model as standard, can't really smooth them as the mesh would warp

weeeeeelllllll it's more complex than lego, but yeah it's basically building things with different pieces and can cutomise a lot

You can never get the 3D props that perfectly fit your imagination, unless you make them yourself, I either don't have 3D sculpting programs, either don't want to get that much into digital to mess with these things, I'm sparing the rest of my free time to the traditional works, and making these 3D works for fun. And not intended to invert their importances
That was his assassin's sword, the guy used his own sword to finish off Kain while he was already on the ground, and became Kain's own sword when he accepted it from Mortanius. According to Kain's desription about his items, both the sword and the armour was re-forged to make a better use to his new identity.

Nothing is free...and he REALLY shouldn't have gone for the "small eternity in hell with sword through chest" discount. Oh sure, it looks nice at first glance but watch out for that fine print.
