My best friend asked me to paint a tree as a wedding gift to her mother who recently remarried. I had intended a light but complex landscape with a tree perched on a cliff reaching out into the heavens...instead, I painted a darker tree with a more mysterious feeling. I am not sure what happened, but I may be starting over again and listening to really happy music and drinking white wine instead of coffee.
Original watercolour on cotton and silk 300 lb cold press paper. Hand blended paint with pulverized sterling silver and 24kt gold. Measures 22 x 30 in.

work has been taking up a heap of my time.
i have been in a mad frenzy, trying to paint a bunch of pieces for an upcoming show. i must say, it's not going very well. i am not inspired to paint at this very moment and the show is on the 20th of aug. we will see what becomes of this little asian jamaican man.

it went well. i ended up with 25 pieces. i hammered off a few paintings in the remaining days leading up to the show. all in all, it was a good experience. i sold three pieces. i wasn't expecting to sell anything but that made me happy. they asked me if i wanted to have another showing in feb but i declined.
i haven't really been doing too much with painting in the past months. it's been all tattoos. i love it.

i posted the last two paintings i did for the show.
i just started doing tattoos. i have done about 30 or so in the past 3 months. i think this will be something i will do for the rest of my life. i enjoy it that much. the plan of action is to open up a tattoo studio in the next few years.

i'm taking a breather from flying.
in a few months i will be finished all of my scuba instructor training and then i am headed to the caribbean to teach scuba in a cruise ship.
i shall be doing tattoos on the ship too, but i will do it from my room. ha.
i will have a website with all of my tattoo work on it. that should be coming in a month.

Working on getting back into painting. You know how that is. I have some ideas I want to get out, but my fingers always have to be retrained....we shall see what this weekend yields.

Again those small lines are very amazing! It looks awesome with the blue in the lines and the moon (or sun?) behind the branches makes it look even more interesting!
