I literally sat here for 10 minutes trying to think of a title for this thing, but it still sucks. Screw it.My entry into CGMA"s Mechworld Challenge which includes both mech and world categories. Naturally, I went towards the environments, but I couldn't help but put some sort of sentry drone (love those little guys) in there. The scene itself is of mysterious spheres that came to Earth and turned the whole planet into an icy wasteland. Our vantage point is from some cliff in what once was a tropical jungle. I should have probably put some actual architecture in there, but we'll see what the judges think.

what sort of contest was this? Concept art? Honestly yours is easily one of the best imo. Some of the mech concepts were pretty cool as well, but the only thing I quite liked as much as yours was this one: [link]

I'm not sure if there was a distinct style that was needed, just whatever you wanted to do. But yeah, his and another person's were awesome. I find it a little weird that their judging both the mech and environment categories together, but I guess it works.

Killer work, man! I really like your attention to detail, like snow/ice/waterfalls coming from the rocks on the sides. It's things like these that make the piece awe-inspiring and make you feel like you're there

Wow thats amazing!! I like the concept a lot!! Maybe you could have called it "Who left the fridge open?" (see what i did there...? Tropic Thunder...no?...okie).
I did have a question though, How do you draw the rocky details on the mountain? I can never seem to get those right in my drawings. I know this is digital art, but is there some universal technique?

haha, yeah, that would have been a good choice. I couldn't help but think of all the puns from the Batman movie with arnold schwarzenegger as mr. freeze. So horrible, but awesome at the same time.
As for the rocky details, it's from a brush I used that had a dual brush and maybe a rock texture too. Pretty simple actually.
