READ PLEASE!!!!!!pssshhhh-yeah i have no IDEA how many character sheets i did today, seriously it was like to most i have EVER done in one day.
so yus, me and saphy today were making evil villan character and we had a funny rant towards each other (felt sorry for silky being in it XD) of the main villain weather he kepy his colors to a brown black or change it to a bright white, XD i said black, and saphy said white, but than we forced silky to choose and she was all like <--"WHY ME!?" and than it came to the choice of black because i didn't have a ref of him with a bright color >_>;, but! evil owl has a snowy owl apprentice that saphy drew and loves
and i love it too GRRR...; but yeah, today was epic of us xD! seriously we are like head high for this comic >D, we made so many characters and finally got to the pages of them x3.how the pages go, we are definitely going to finish the first 8 pages (there's alot more sketched out than this believe me) before we post them every week, just so your tippy toes will be held high to know what's gonna happen next xD, YES this comic will deiniftely be published, as for the backgrounds, you'll find out how they will turn out xDD!! right now im almost done on the bg's for them >_> very slow process but getting thar, saphy is all excited for lining,blocking and shading!! and im excited to color and bubble them x3!!!

You could always invent a species instead of mixing two. I mean, there are talking wolves in your story.

I don't know so terribly much about owls but i don't think Barned owls and snowy owls can breed with each other, just like red foxes and grey foxes can't breed.
If so, i want to see some evidence and maybe some pictures of the breeds.
If not, i suggest you just make it one type of owl, go with it and make it believeable and perhaps i dunno, do a little more research on owls before making a comic about them- because they look cool and you like them isn't enough to make a good comic. Even a OWL comic can be as generic as a wolf comic. different spiecies don't mean crap to me. so please stay away from genericness, i don't want a owl comic to be completely butchered by it.
anyways, i am getting off topic, He looks more barned to me and could always have a unique color. because if you just make him the result of two different type of owls going at it, then it is completely another species.

I'm pretty sure Gray Fox and Red Fox can breed. I have pictures of one and was told by an expert that it was both breeds.[link]

Your expert is an idiot.
A cross fox is a variation of a red fox, as 5 minutes with google will show you.
Gray foxes cannot breed with red foxes, but red foxes come in many colors. Red, silver, black, some even white (not arctic), and the variation you showed, which is called a cross fox.
Your expert needs to go back to school.

Sorry but that so called expert of yours can't seem to tell the difference between a gray fox and a silver fox. So you have to use the term 'expert' very VERY VERY loosely. In fact don't use it at all.
That picture isn't a grey fox and red fox mix, it is a cross fox. Also known as a Silver and Red mix.
Tell that expert of yours to restate his words.

true i agree with you on this two breeds thing, i didn't really wanted to do it as well but the colors pretty much is what sorta made me do it, but i might take the "snowy owl" breed part off
