Here is a character I created for a RP session with general-tommy who has now become one of the characters of the novel series he is writing.

  Kana was born into a family of well-known laywers in the land of Hougriguni. She was the middle of three kids, an older brother and a younger sister. The Fujyou family has had a history of following in the footsteps of their legacy, that is until Kana came around. She found just waiting around for crime to happen in order to defend the innocent boring and nonsensical. She wanted to take a more active approach. At the young age of 10, she voiced her opinion to her family. They scowled at the idea of a Fujyou descendent not becoming a lawyer, but went along with it since she was just 10. Her mother suggested that she try to join up with the army. Kana decided to become an adventurer at that point to help train herself for the army. Because of her age, she still lived at home, returning every few months to rest and visit.

  She wasn't completely disconnected from her family or studies while adventuring. If there is one thing Kana loves, it's cell phones. She loves collecting different styles and trinkets to hang off of them. She used the internet to keep up on basic knowledge and knows how to find any information she needs in no time at all. During this time, Kana started making a name for herself around the area. Some offered her praise, while others criticized her in going against her family legacy.

  Life continued on well for her until the day she saw Rebecca's trial broadcasted over the world when she was 14. She sat there, watching the mockery of due process and fair justice being displayed to everyone. Even though she knew of the horrors the tyrant had caused, she was still human and deserved to be treated as such. Before she stood up and started to yell and shout in the middle of the crowd, that's when she saw Astrid appear in the middle of the trial and put an end to the injustice at hand. Kana sat there staring in awe. After the the broadcast feed had ended, she pulled out one of her cell phones and began searching up more information on the Church of Astrid. She read about their core ideals and beliefs. About Astrid herself. About how it got started. Over the next week, she would research more and more into it seeing that Astrid's teachings coincided with what Kana herself believed. Eventually, she decided to become a follower of Astrid.

  Kana's family have always been devout followers of Nomiki. Even when she would return home for visits, she had to continue to follow in traditions. While not a problem in the Church of Astrid's Doctrine to worship and believe in other religions, it is still frowned upon by other faiths. One morning, she returned home from a long stint waiting to be with her family once again. When she walked in, her mother took her to her room to help her get cleaned up because there was a family meeting that night. Three generations of the Fujyou family were at the meeting. The patriarch of the family requested that she come to the center and stand. Beside her, was her mother. Kana recognized what was going on. She had been a part of it before. She was now on trial with her family. She realized that it had been discovered that she became a follower of the Astridian faith. Her mother did what she could to defend her. The patriarch asked Kana to stop with this childish foolishness and follow in line. To this, Kana replied "No". She is free to believe and do what she wants because she is human. Isn't that what her family stood for? Why they helped defend people. She was deemed a disgrace to the family and was ordered to leave and never comeback. She doesn't exist anymore to them. She has been disowned.

  Being an adventurer, Kana didn't find it hard to live without a place to call home. But, the emotional sting of being disowned from her family was tougher than any monster or job she had ever had. Some nights, she'd find herself crying while going to sleep. Or when seeing things that reminded her of her family, hiding her face or running away. The pain ravaged her soul. She began to question everything she has done and believed in. Was she just acting like a child? Did she make the right decision? Was sacrificing her family bonds worth everything she has done? Kana has always been emotionally and physically stronger than others (even though she didn't really show it that much in her physical body. This is due to having some of Agape's bloodline, which she doesn't know about.), but now, she felt as weak and scared as a tiny mouse. When she was alone one night in the wilderness, she sent out a prayer to Astrid. But this wasn't one of those typical "Please protect my family" type of prayers. It was a cry out for help. She prayed through tears explaining what had happened between her and her family. How she has been disowned. How hypocritical they are. And how she felt all alone now in the world.

  As Kana knelt down on the ground, praying through the tears, she felt a cool breeze blow past her. She winced a little from the dust that got blown in her face. A calm, pleasant voice filled her ears. It said "My dear Kana, I have heard your cry for help." Kana quickly spun around to see a large figure form before her eyes. Standing in front of her in all her divine glory was Astrid. She stared in awe of her goddess and quickly bowed in front of her. Astrid, being the humble soul she is, told Kana that she didn't have to do that and to just stand as normal. She talked to her about how she felt sorry for what had happened between Kana and her family. Kana told Astrid that it was not her fault that Kana's family were strict conservative, traditionalists. She's always been the odd one out of the family. Only her mother made an attempt to defend for her. Because of the guilt she feels with Kana being disowned, Astrid proposed that she adopts Kana as her own.

  Kana was shocked by the proposal. She didn't know what to say. Words couldn't describe the mixture of emotions that she was feeling. She finally worked out the words to say how honored she was, but thought it was not necessary. Astrid insisted on it. Kana graciously accepted the offer from her goddess. She was transported to the Temple of Astrid where she was given residence to stay when she was not busy adventuring. She thanked Astrid for what she had done for her and pledged to continue believing, never having doubt anymore in her faith in her goddess. There was just one problem Kana could see in her mind though. She was 150 cm tall, flat chested, with kid like features. Not what you'd expect from the newly adopted daughter of Astrid, who was a symbol of strength and beauty. Pulling out her cell phone, she began researching how to workout and attain the body that would be appropriate for her new family. After three years, growing 40 cm in height, numerous cup sizes, and kilos of muscle, she is well on her way to looking like the daughter of a goddess.
