Description: Jessilyn appears to have a cool personality upon first meeting. She is headstrong in her ideals, and not afraid to fight for them. She gets excited at the thought of fighting a worthy opponent to test her strength, and is not beyond slaying an enemy. She does have a slightly goofier side and is not at all afraid to speak what is on her mind.

Background
Jessilyn (Jess) grew up on the frontier planet of Athas-487. Athas-487 was not your idyllic paradise. Everyday was a constant struggle for survival as greed and corruption was abound. Jess is a tomboy through and through. She was never one for being a girl, most of the times hanging out with the local boys. And maybe getting into a fight or two protecting someone.

Jess was orphaned at a young age when one day as she was going home with her parents, the family got caught in the crossfire of a gang war. After the battle was over, the head of the Excellia family, Roberto, surveyed the damage to the newly acquired land. In the rain, he saw Jess kneeling next to her parents, crying for the first time in her life. Feeling sorry for the girl, he took her in as a part of the family. Over the years, Jess would see Roberto as a father figure. She began to train hard to please him, from learning how to steal, training her body physically, and practicing how to handle a weapon.

On her 18th birthday, Jess was promoted to be one of the higher-ups in charge of the Excellia family, until the ceremony was stormed by the Imperium. Jess fought hard against the troops to protect her family. In the end, the Excellia family was eliminated. Survivors were taken away to Penal colonies, except for Jess. They decided to make special use of her skills, and forced her into the 503rd division of the Militarum Tempestus that was now stationed on Athas-487. She was beaten and harassed by the other soldiers in the unit. But she got her licks in on them. The commander kept forcing her out onto the front lines, everyone snickering and laughing, not giving her ANY support. They all just waited for her to die. But, she continued to persevere. The brutal training and missions started to make her stronger. She never gave up once, and in fact took her training even harder than the others, putting on muscle. She waited for that one day. The one day when she would regain her freedom. That day finally came. One night, one of the soldiers was going into her cell to 'have a bit of fun' with her. She was hiding up in he corner, suspended. Without seeing her until it was too late, she choked the soldier and snapped his neck with her powerful legs. She grabbed the keys off him and escaped. With alarms blaring, she ran to the armory and grabbed all that she could carry. She busted down the door, faced the soldiers head on and fought tooth and nail for her freedom. After the bloody battle, she dragged her wounded body out of the building, with a bum right arm from getting shot, bleeding, and armed with only a bolt pistol with one, single bolt. Outside, a storm was on the horizon, causing the winds to pick up. She made her way to her escape ship, when standing in front of it was the commander, armed with a Heavy Bolter. She stood in front of him, weak and exhausted. He chortled and said "Remember Excellia, only the strongest survive!" as he raised the gun. Jess shakily raised her pistol while gritting her teeth. They both aimed at each other. Jess widened her eyes and took a deep breath as the two pulled their triggers. Gunfire could be heard. The shell of the bolt flew back. Suddenly, the commander dropped to the ground with Jess still standing. His gun had jammed, and didn't fire. Jess dropped her gun, knelt down and picked up the shell, grasped it in her bloodied hand, and proceeded to the escape ship. She remembers climbing into the ship and punching in coordinates for Port Wonder. Not too long after escaping the atmosphere of Athas-487, Jess passed out. When she awoke, she was in a hospital at Port Wonder. Still grasped in her hand was the shell casing from that single bolt. The higher ups of Athas-487 lied and said that a Xeno attack had occurred that wiped out the 503rd division, not wanting to tell them that a single girl had done it.

Jess' goal in life is to continue to become stronger, since as we all know, survival is of the fittest. She trains daily, even coming up with new routines to continue to give her a challenge. Remembering seeing some Arch-Militants who had visited Athas-487 in the past and having spoken to a few when with the Excellia family, she decided that if she wanted to continue to challenge herself and grow stronger, she would become and Arch-Militant to a Rogue Trader.
