Description There is always a work which makes you lose patience. You throw it to the darkest corner, allowing it to lay there under an inch thick layer of dust. This description is more or less about the picture above.

I've found it recently, and after another attempt to finish it, decided to add some crappy digital effects and naive symbolism. If anyone can nonetheless say "I enjoyed watching that" ...well... i think i need to go vist a doctor or sth.

In the pic the Polish Lancer Regiment of the French Imperial Guard, lessay around 1813, Napoleon's campaign in Germany. The Lancers pass their Emperor, who is believed to restore their oppressed homeland. How it ended we all know. Still, the Lanciers polonais de la Garde Imperiale are one of my favourite units of all time.

There's something romantically (and i don't mean the modern trivialised version of this word popularised by cheap soap operas) rousing to see a cavalry charge of the old. Sadly we have to bring it before our eyes by arts.

Pencil plus some textures.

omg ... I just fell in love with the render (map+polish lancer!)

and totally agree with the romantic power of Napoleon and the Empire.

Many french authors were totally influenced by this period and it brings directly the noble "romantique" term in books!

Anyway, great work, for sure!

"Those men on grey horses are terrifying."
"They are the noblest cavalry in Europe and the worst led."
"That may be, that may be. But we'll match them with our lancers."

Amazing drawing! More than a match for any British cavalry!

They were fast like the wind and they were gone like the wind, only leaving the dead enemies behind them. Even in the beginning of the war in 1939, the german infatry was terrefied by surprise attacks of the polish cavallry.

I'm digging the style of this, I don't care it's finished by the effects, it looks awesome to me <: You did a great job on the shading and movement of the horse <3
More artworks of Polish lancers would be appreciated, yes!

Ahh that's a shame because it's really great. I love the way the battle map is incorporated into it and Napoleon alluded to in the background. The way the line of Lancers trails off into less detail gives it a 'memory' like quality! I love it!

hrm...i didn't think about it that way, I mean the "memory-like" stuff. I much appreciate that comment of yours
