So, essentially, Fresh is actually a small tentacled being. He feeds off of the souls and emotions of other Sanses by using them as a host. When he's using a Sans host, it looks like the Fresh that you know. He uses the "Fresh Poof" to switch hosts. Fresh himself has no emotions or feelings (or soul.)
