Aw I'm so glad to hear that! After graduation, I went in and out of a kind of depression (not so much a sad depression, it was more like being lazy and not wanting to do anything or talk to anyone). I think everyone does after graduating, even if they hated school. Do you watch the show How I Met Your Mother? I only ask because there's this episode where they mention how, even if you hate someone or something with a passion, when you can finally get rid of that person or leave that place you suddenly find all those things that ticked you off to be not nearly as bad and you feel like you're actually gonna miss it all. I didn't hate school, but I was so ready to be done with it all. Once it was all over, though, I immediately started to miss it. Maybe it's natural, or maybe I'm just overly sensitive. Maybe it's both, lol.

I am doing a lot better, thanks. I plan to spend the rest of this year working on my drawing/art portfolio to try and get into the Art Institute of North Hollywood. If it doesn't work out financially, or if I don't get in right away, my backup plan is to go to a community college and transfer into the Art Institute. I would really like to go to CalArts, though, since it's closer to the community college I'm thinking of going to, and it would be like following in the footsteps of all my favorite animators/artists (Craig McCracken, Tim Burton, Arlene Klasky, Glen Keane, etc). It's more expensive than AI, though. Plus AI offers a better system for me, such as smaller classes and one-on-ones with the student and the teacher. They even have special classes for students who have difficulty speaking up for themselves or talking in front of a crowd.
I really want to go into AI to work at getting a degree in animation. In all honesty, though, I don't really want to be an animator for the rest of my life. I want the degree, but I'd prefer working as an animation director or supervisor. I'd still work as an animator, but I don't want to make it a career. What I really want to do for a career is to become an illustrator, illustrating both my own comics/storybooks and maybe even other people's comics/storybooks. My mom also wants to hire me as the illustrator for a children's book she's working on.
My sister is one of those kind of people who say they're leaving home the moment they graduate, which worries me and my entire family since she still thinks the idea of living with her boyfriend doesn't involve "sleeping together". I wouldn't even dream of moving away from home to live on campus, I never have. I ain't leaving this nest until I make enough money to buy my own apartment, which probably won't happen for a long time.
