Description Jodi the red fox. Looks much cleaner on fullview.

In this fictional world I've been fleshing out over the years, a nation sees the rapid loss of its infrastructure, leaving the inhabitants without electricity. Jodi is surviving the changes very well, which she owes in no small part to her brother and his support. If the collapse-of-society theme is too trite or best-avoided, let me know. I don't intend to make a stereotypical "post-apocalyptic" setting. This is something I'm really trying to develop into a proper story.

Feel free to color her! (and note me if you need a color scheme)

Jodi is cute! This is a nice drawing with great detail. Her abs look fit and I like the playful look in her eyes.

Well, its not so much trite as its been heavily mined over the past few decades. Its the anxiety of knowing that your at the top of the heap, and theres nowhere to go but down.
Regardless, I think its worth exploring though if you try and develop the story from a different... well, geographic standpoint. Post apocalyptic stories tend to be in desert or urban waste kind of environments. Writers tend to forget though, that the world is a diverse place, and people would react differently based on the climate and geography, some doing better than others (I know over half of Los Angeles would starve if it got cut off from the Central Valley. Folks living in farm areas would do fine as long as they have water).

Thats my two cents on the story. As for Jodi, shes certainly a nice looking lady, but I do worry that she looks a bit too much like the stereotypical post apocalyptic damsel. A baseball cap and a worn jacket might be worth experimenting with.

This is good input, and well made I will be experimenting a lot with this scenario.

Just a single nation? That could work. The classical "the world ends in a mushroom cloud now lets dress like bikers" theme has been done to death, but if it's just something like a nation or continent loosing its infrastructure (perhaps thanks to over-reliance on a few limited power sources that are destroyed in natural disaster) then it could be very interesting. Especially if you go for a sort of schizo tech base where everyone's uses horses alongside sniper rifles, and whatnot.

There are plenty of ways for modern society to collapse (chief among them being a loss of electricity), they don't all have to be nuclear. As long as you remember that you should be fine.

This theme is awesome. If you could use it properly, not just another "TERRIBALWORLDNUKESBANDITSSTALKERSIMASUPPAHERO", lol.

And love this pic.

I think it's a good story to pursue. Personally, I think the stereotype to avoid is heavy-handed environmentalistic messages. Not that I disagree with those messages, they're just getting a little tired.

Some interesting research might be the first episode of the show Connections, with James Burke. He goes into the hard realities of just such a scenario.

Very cute drawing, btw

I like post apocalyptic themes. But if you think it's too stereotypical, maybe you could make it more of a "post modern society" that just declined naturally rather than due to some apocalyptic event? Like a second dark age only in modern times.

I think that theme would do just fine, if done correctly of course. I wouldn't go the Red Dawn way, if you know what I mean. I'd would definitely like to see your story sometime.

Energy and resource crise that has civilization thrown into a world before industrial revolution? I donΒ΄t know how about the rest, but it sounds pretty new to me. I must appreciate somebody doesnΒ΄t take a drastic apocalyptic step but has a slow decay take place instead. Well, depands on what the story and its point is about. ... Jodi here felt like a hippie first time I saw her, but itΒ΄s clearly not the case.
What form do you plan to give the story?
