Yep, and just wait to see what I got in mind for her. Based off a character from another book I enjoyed. XD you did mention that Estel's hoofmaidens dreaded the very idea of having to braid his long locks of hair...well she decided to go with the braids XD. I am just a bit stumped about a detail since fawnlings can't use human hair accessories...so I suppose they would make their own hair bands.

My headcanon is that fawnlings use either very thin leather stripes, small vines or
their very own hair to keep braids from opening up. The later is extremely delicate
braiding work though so they need the help of something with fingers to do it.

The only animal that could do that would be squirrels unless they somehow gain a pet monkey. How does, when he does insist on the braid, Estel keeps his hair up? You also got to factor in the differences between length and thickness. But I think it should work alright, there are current fawnlings whose hair is in way more intricate styles.

Mice and rats are also a possibility but how they really do there hair will forever stay a
secret I guess. XD
I would say the the answer on all 'How?' hair question is 'They can.'

Today at work I had a thought, could they use vines for Estephania's hair bands? Estel has used vines to make lovely collars, so it may not be too much trouble to weave them into something that can keep her braids in place and decorate them with flowers (maybe daffodils and marigold?)
