Description Many people try to make Yawgmoth into a card but at the height of his power. This simply cannot occur because the Ineffable is simply too strong.

I have rectified this issue by making a card of Yawgmoth that displays him and his power before he became the leader-god of Phyrexia, when he was nothing more than a healer of the Thran Empire.

I love how you almost perfectly predicted his actual card title: Yawagmoth, Thran Physician, SIX YEARS in advance of the actual card being released in Modern Horizons. I love when things like this happen, you Rock!

I think the most interesting thing about Yawgmoth is that he fell in love with a woman who would go on to become Gaea, goddess of the earth/green mana/whatever you want to call it...look it up.

Then we play Nicolas Bolas.

Yawgmoth would still kick Bolas in the bolas.

That fits him. He'd rather do his own deeds through his experience than to actually heal someone. the whole of phyrexia is that example.

I dont think yawgmoth ever went crazy and that is a picture of glacian.

Fanboy you may be...but at least you got your head in the right place. I approve of this card solely because you put thought into Yawgmoth's character.

For some reason, I always thought that was Glacian...

The second ability is a throwback to the card "Phthisis", right?

Well, sort of before AND during said period.

I think we can agree up to the point where he created his army of Phyrexians. Although I think he might have had his phylosophy of phyrexis -- [link] -- somewhere around this time.

"Exile target noncreature permanent. You gain life equal to it's power plus it's toughness". Let me get this straight.... you're gaining life equal to the *noncreature's* power + toughness??

I'll get that fixed in a minute.

Okay, different. Better now? Thank you, by the way.

It's ironic that you've critiqued a card of mine (justifiably so), since I feel like I'm often the one to critique other peoples' cards. It's a pleasant change of pace.

O.O!!! LOVE IT!

Wow, even that is rather potent for a mere four mana. Yes, you have to pay seven (including very heavy required costs), but DAMN!

Everyone always wants to know what the Father of Machines looks like, yet no one ever thinks of his image on The Thran. I suppose technically the crowd on Phyrexian Arena is him too. And the black cloud of death on Last Stand. Hmmmmm...

Also, his black tap ability reminds me an awful lot of that nifty card Phthysis. Of course, that is rather appropriate. Ah, we also see poor Glacian's arm flailing in the background. Now that would be an interesting card as well, "Glacian, Thran Artificer" or something like that. I'd guess, oddly enough, mono red. He was surrounded by goblins in the Mana Rig after all...

I remember seeing some canon Yawgmoth, Father of Machines art on the pages of one of the books. I don't quite recall which one though.

And that black ability did represent Phthisis, albeit without the suspend ability.

I'd suppose red works, but if Glacian were to be printed by today's color-pie standards he'd need at least some blue in him too. A workable image would have to be found as well. (Regardless, he is not Phyrexian and shall not be made compleat.)
