Got the idea from S.T.A.L.K.E.R - Shadow Of Chernobyl game~
It's on the one of my favourite location~ If you're S.T.A.L.K.E.R player, you'll know where is it~ Though maybe I drew it rather different~ XD
Ready to blow everything with that grenade launcher~

AFAIK, radioactivity wouldn't totally gone up to hundreds to thousands years~

First, I'd like to mention that the location in that scene is the trainyard where you help defend a small band of netural STALKERS defend themselves against the bandits.
Secondly, I'm sure there's some radiation left in Chernobyl; I mean, some elements become inactive in the blink of an eye, while others take years, decades, centuries, millinia, maybe even eons before decaying into safe elements.
