Description
It wasn't as if Hawkweed didn't know he was a little too much for most. He just didn't think it hurt anyone, so he didn't often bother to tone it down. He'd make friends his own way, and they'd like him or they wouldn't. He didn't mind!
Lethe was the first wolf that the pup had come across in a while who seemed to be openly willing to entertain him. He knew the others had soft spots, and he was sure they were just making a concerted effort to try and pretend he didn't cheer them up.
But Lethe's calmness was almost disarming. More puzzling than that, he'd never met a blind wolf before.
He couldn't try to make her laugh by doing his tricks or running around. And he didn't have many jokes, or much to talk about.
All at once, he found himself at a loss.
He let her talk instead- just listened and looked.
Maybe he should do that more often.
