In my opinion, the most bad-ass boss in all the FF series. Kefka only loses because he allows it. He's like an evil Chuck Norris

Like the Joker, we'll never know for sure who he was before he snapped. Good, bad, anybody who did know was probably dead after Kefka destroyed the world.
He had no love for life, in any shape or form.

Oh, okay yeah. That explains well why people prefer Sephiroth over Kefka. I happen to do too.
I heard that backstories flesh out the character and make them complex/interesting about why they turned out the way they did, whether it's a hero or villain.
If a character does not have a backstory, then they would be boring, one-dimensional characters.
It turns out that Kefka's backstory that I believed in was just from a fan-doujinshi of a Kefka/Celes ship. It's a shame that Kefka lacks a true backstory as to why he was evil. It would have made him more compelling, if not more compelling than Sephiroth.

We do know a bit of why he was evil.
He was the first prototype Magitech Knight, but he underwent the magic infusion process when it hadn't been perfected yet. It was said that something inside of him had snapped that day.
As for me, I kinda like Sephiroth and Kefka equally in their own ways. We know for certain that Sephiroth used to be a good guy.

Yes, we all know Kefka went evil because of the Magitek Experiments enforced on him, but what about his childhood? Did he get to experience love, family, friends, dreams, hope?

I think I read somewhere that Kefka was supposed to be a character that nobody could sympathize with, but you still have to wonder.
There's a lot of reasons he's called as the Joker of Final Fantasy.

kefka needs his own religion. He has influenced me more than any of the other fictional gods that are so popular these days (Jesus, YHVH, Eris, etc...) but no tax exempt love for the one god who could probably kick all of the other god's asses at once (heartless angel followed immediately by ultima).
