Took 5 hours so far. Thinking about either removing or reducing the size of the island in the background so it seems like it's taking place further out in the ocean. I'm going to add a bunch of Alliance people jumping off the boat and such as well. Constructive criticism would be appreciated, especially on the water.Related content

Good composition, but I would make the waves a bit more violent & uneven. The beast is very well done, especially the eye highlights.

And that the reason I'm afraid of the ocean...
It looks great, I think there should be more tentacles coming out of the water and more boat parts

So,this piece is great,but there's a couple of things that i feel i should be pointg out.
First,in the middle of a storm,especially on the sea there should be irregular,and possibly huge waves going on there in a chaotic way (check this link: [link] ). Also a more accentuated rain should add to the drama of the moment as a final statement that they won't make it alive. And finally in my opinion you should add more detail to the boat parts, possibly more floating parts,as there is a big contrast (imo) between the face of the kraken and the boat parts. I hope it's what you wanted to see,i tried my best

I love the tones of blue but i dont see black, as in pitch black. It may or may not enhance drama of the moment but theres a saying that light shines brightess in the dark and here it seems it would work well.
Oh and in regards to the water, you probably already know but the highlights looked scribbled. I know its laborious but you know it'll pay off if you spend more time to the repetative things.

As I'm not an artist myself, I can't exactly give you any critique on the water... nor anything else.
I do, however, think that you're doing a great job. I can just imagine a Dwarf holding a blunderbuss, aiming at the thing's head. Haha! Probably at the far front end of the ship, at that.
