Just before leaving, I could not resist in taking one more photo of Flying Scotsman. This time, I lowered myself and bent a little to make it like Scotsman was towering over me. Once I took this shot, Scotsman gave out a series of whistle blasts not just to me but to everyone else in the area.As I made my exit, I waved goodbye to the locomotive but in doing so, she whistled four times and it sounded like "We'll meet again." After I left, Scotsman went into the sheds at 6:00pm an hour later when the even was over.

What? She's nice to look at. She'd look good in any color in any landscape. Plus, I've always liked dark green as well. Never was a fan of that apple green.

To me Scotsman's mostly familiar in LNER Green but then again in any livery, she brings in the crowd no matter what.

yeah after all those years under maintenance, finally able to ride the rails again, besides if they did it with the frisco's 1630 in one vid when she returned in 2014 so

yep. Scotsman was super. What was very strange was that when she moved back and back up to the station, you could not hear anything, it was that silent.

From the pics you have posted it almost looks like she's not even in steam. None of the valves are expelling steam and her Kylchap chimney seem's rather deprived of smoke. Yet in one of them shoe's she is fired.
How odd, maybe now she's the Flying Stealthsman?

She was in steam. Mostly the smoke was light and and sometimes slight brown or black smoke would come out.

Did you get to see her in yher Wartime Black livery when she carried it?
While I know she ran it in her hey day bit sadly probably won't these days. I'd like to see her wear the Express Passenger Blue of Early B.R

that's the only thing I didn't get to see.... I wanted to see scotsman in Wartime Black livery but didn't have the time. However I was able to.. on the TV and internet XD
they only had the BR green and BR Blue blue.

My newest was the one on her USA tour of 1969 and it's my personal fave.

If i have to say what i think personally is the Prettiest Steam Locomotive's out there
while the Merchant Navy's are my fave. I would say hands down it has to be the LMS Coronation class after they were rebuilt without the stream lining

To me all the engines in england from the GWR to the LMS, to the Soutern railway (that includes Merchant Navys) and the LNER engines were all pretty in their own way.
