Antwerp (Belgium), May 28th 2023

On May 25th 1873, the first tram service ran in the city of Antwerp.

On the occasion of 150 years of Antwerp Trams, a tram parade was held.

Like Tram 181, Tram 8826 started out as part of the Series 401-470 built by the workplaces of the Antwerp Tramways in the early 1900s, following a similar pathway through her career (so no need to explain that bit twice, just click the link above). Following her withdrawal from regular service in 1970, she was relegated to maintenance and breakdown services. She was only withdrawn from service in 1999, after which she was passed on to the collection of the Flemish Tram and Bus Museum in Antwerp.
