Description One of the prizes of a limited time event in War Thunder, Obyekt 279 was an all-terrain heavy tank with full nuclear, biological and chemical protection, and with a specially shaped hull to withstand the shockwave of a nuclear explosion.  First demonstrated in 1959, it was cancelled in 1960 when Krushchev forbade the further development of any heavy tanks in favour of lighter MBTs and guided missile tanks.

I'd hate to be the soldier who would have to repair the inner treads under combat conditions.

It's one of the many things that counted against the design.  The tracks and suspension were overly complicated, and tended to break down often during her trials.  Krushchev's decision to dispense with new heavy tanks was just the final push...

I had a lot of quality lockdown time to spend, and I decided to grind my Soviets while I was at it.

Ah I see, I'm not even sure if I will get one part finished lol. The IS-2 is okayish, but don't expect too much of it, other than it's gun there's no real reason to play it. The IS-3 tho is one of my favorite heavies!

I'm feeling a glutton for punishment because I'm actually working on my 4th rocket now (already completed 3 of the 5 stages...).  Still not sure about whether to go for the Sd Kfz 234/1 or the Steam Gun Boat, though...

No feel of guilt needed, I'd take the 234 btw.

Ah, the Stridsvagn 103!  Well, that one recently entered the game as well - in fact, the entire nation of Sweden did!

how I hate all these experimental tanks especielly the russians, stick to the tanks that saw combat and saw operational use, a reason why I prefer dedicated tnak simulators like tank crew instead
