When I was overseas, I was told that it was bad luck to lay chopsticks in an X shape over the bowl like that. I don't know if it was just a Khmer (Cambodian) superstition, but it immediately came to mind when I saw that part of your artwork. Those people also believe in putting up scarecrows (ting maung) when an illness is afflicting the village--it's a means of protection against the evil spirit responsible. Sometimes, families will arm their scarecrows with mock weapons for a little extra help, lol. So seeing Kakashi near his sleeping wife with kunai and shuriken nearby also had me thinking about things I've seen. You've created an interesting balance: Chopsticks as a bad omen, and a scarecrow as a protector. Very cool.
