Description Wow. I come up with the most creative titles ever! *eyeroll* I've been working on this off and on since some point in mid May hence varying quality throughout the piece. I finished most of it on vacation with and when it was too rainy to go outside, hence why the guitar doesn't look too good: I didn't have my guitar with to get the perspective correct and it's a bit embarassing. If anyone feels inclined to critique on the guitar, keep in mind that I know it looks terrible and I play guitar (both of mine are sitting behind me as I type this). If only I wouldn't have sprayed the piece with fixative right when i got home.
Anyhoo, the subject is Kaoru lead guitarist of Dir en grey. The piece was done on 9" by 12" paper from my sketchbook used for class this year.
Done in prismacolor pencils in 8-12 hours.
Note: Someone quite a few months back suggested I draw Kaoru. I'm trying to remember who and I feel terrible that I don't. Well, I dedicate it to all other Kaoru fans on DA b/c my brain is moldy when it comes to names!

I love this so much! When I try to do poortraits, it hard on Kaoru. Because of his sexxii facial structure. I need more prisma colored pencils. I only have the markers X(

Thank you! Yes, his sexy facial structure can be difficult--his awesome cheekbones have been known to cause me much trouble. I love him none the less though!
I sort have the opposite issue: I have the prisma color pencils, but only a few of the markers. I'll never be able to afford ver many of those!

very very awesome. WHOAH. the hair is perfect. but, PLEASE DON"T KILL ME. i think that the left eye (his right eye) is just a little too slanted. but whoah. your pencil skills totally kill mine. that hair look real. and you drew his cheekbones so perfectly. i love this picture.

Thank you very much for such praise! *blushes* The hair was sort of the whole point of the piece for me (I really wanted to draw his pink spikey hair ) so I'm so very glad you like it!
Why would I kill you? I appreciate critique actually. Yes, and yo uare absolutely right: that eye is way wonky. It's been annoying me! If I would have been able to tear myself away from the hair for a bit I could have done a better job on that face! Such is life though. Something to be learned for next time. ^___^

you totally deserve it! i get a LOT of things wrong in my pictures. like, the tetsu pic i did, his head is SO FREAKING HUGE. and the arms are also out of proportion. and i hate that. but yeah.
that's life, and we'll all get over it eventually.

THANK YOU! I was so slow finishing this! AHHHHH! I got my ahir cut today in that Kaoru style you told me too! It's quite odd having bangs on only one side of yer head! Other than that I love it! Except they had to bleach my hair to get the red up higher and the bleach turned my hair orange, not yellow/pale! I've got to go over the red w/ my red dye anyway and deal w/ the fact that it's Die colored exactly. Oh yeah, Spencer said hi to "the blonde chick who wanted you to dye your hair green." I think it was him anyway.
Well, I ramble like a crazy woman, so thanks anyway!

Well, we were quite blonde until you accidently dyed yer hair red...but I like the red because on the blonde it's like crazy bright and stuff.
