My first ever vector art!
Well, that I made in Photoshop and is a somewhat proper work of art. I've done some random stuff in Fireworks for a class in webdesign which I had long ago.

hotoshop+true+vector#/d32zi0fAnd since I'm an honest pony I'll admit right now that the ponies here are traced. I did their feet and the chessboard myself though.
Rainbow Dash is yelling at Fluttershy to cheer louder in episode 16 and Applejack is accepting an ironpony challange in episode 13.

Most sensible would be to make earth ponies and unicorns into towers or bishops and have the pegasi be the knights since the knights are the only ones who can bypass other pieces.

The place they are standing takes two moves to get to from their original starting points.
Had I done a whole set Clestia would have been the white king with Twilight as the queen and Nightmare Moon would have been the black king with Trixie as queen.

That was my first idea, but since I'm new to vector it took some time to do and I didn't have a lot of time for the Artist Training ground event on Equestria Daily. Had I done a whole set Rainbow Dash and other pegasi would have been bishops.

That's what I said. She would have been bishop if I had done a whole set, but I wanted two rivaling knights and I thought Applejack and Rainbow Dash were pefect because of their rivalry in Fall Weather Friends.

Celestia = king = Nightmare Moon
Twilight = queen = Trixie
Rainbow Dash = bishop
Applejack = knight
I had another though though where Celestia and Luna are white king and queen and the mane cast are the main pieces as follows:
Unicorns = towers
Earth Ponies = knights
Pegasi = bishops
and then background ponies would be pawns.

I'm guessing that "rooks" are what I call "towers".
In Swedish they have other names. Translated:
King = King
Queen = Lady or Queen
Bishop = Runner (sv: lΓΆpare)
Knight = Runner (sv: springare) or Horse
Rook = Tower
Pawn = Farmer
I don't think I will create a whole set though.

Yeah, most of them are really good. I'm not too fond of the episode called "Feeling Pinkie Keen". That episode feels like some kind of religious propaganda to me.
Yeah, the southener accent is really cute on girls. Too bad it often comes coupled with utter stupidity in the human world.
