DRIVER’S COURSE

“It’s okay. Everything is under control. This. Is. Fine.”
Three important things coincided this week:
#1 - We had our forest camp for this course. And since this is a driver’s course, we took a boatload of trucks and jeeps along with us.
#2 - It is winter. With it, winter brought cold. Cold brought with it snow and ice. Ice brought with it slippery roads.
#3 - When winter hits, the military here does not swap the tires on their vehicles for studded tires. You know, the ones you really, reaaallly want to have when streets are coated in ice.
Result: the scenario pictured above repeated itself far more often than we would have liked. I’m glad the other fellow on the intersection took it in great humour, laughing and showing us the thumbs up, because we wereterrified thinking we were going to slide into him.
After all….it’s not like that would have been the first crash of the week.
