Description This my alpha squad sergeant for my city fight Imperial Guard army. He is painted in my new color scheme, sorry this not the best picture; but I will get a new one some time that is all in focus.

Mind if I borrow the idea for the double chainsword for my guard army? Full credit will be given of course.

Lovely colour scheme.

2 chainswords in one, eh? Reminds me of the Eviscerators the priests carry.

I'm curious! How did you achieve the interesting mottled metal effect on the armour? It looks like Tin Bitz was used as a base, but I can't figure it out from there. Fascinating stuff.

Karcov-Kozlov In reply to docwholigan [2008-02-24 18:05:45 +0000 UTC]

OK, thanks.

I first used an under coat of black primer, thin I gave it a med-light watery coat of Baltgun and thin a nice layer of dry brushed Tin Bitz. Oh, and thin I gave it a very thin Black Ink wash.

I'm sorry, but that chainsword conversion is terrible. For a start, you can see where they were joined - it should look as though it is one big chainsword, not two stuck together. Secondly, it looks ridiculous. There is no way that a human would be able to lift that up two-handed, let along with one hand.

Yes you are right, I did not spend much time on this conversion and some day I'll fix it.

And let us just say that he has a bionic arm.

Yeah, in fact, I think it would be interesting to have a model like that carry his longsword with both hands, similar to how the imperial priests carry their weapons.
