Description
I'd like to be
under the sea
in a nudibranch's sponge garden
in the shade
🌊
I got into scuba diving last year, and rediscovered a fascination with the underwater world. There's so much down there, even in the unlikeliest places. What looks like just rocks from the surface can be an algae-encrusted wonderland full of fish, rays, urchins and eels. If you look closer, you can even spot the nudibranchs - colourful little sea slugs smaller than your fingernail.
Sponge gardens are a colloquial name for a tumble of rocks covered in various different sponges, algae and sea squirts. These nudibranch-inspired esk are based on ones found on the east coast of Australia, including nature features and familiars that I've seen here. I've put together a stash folder of some of the (less blurry) photos I've taken, which you can use for inspiration: [LINK ]
