What editing program did you use to color it?

I used gimp.
It is a free and I would say it works pretty good!

I use gimp, as well. But not for things like coloring in a icon.
Any tips?

Well since icons are small I suggest using bright colors to make it pop out and use highlights to make it look bright...I'm not too sure if that helps
