Description My husband took this picture for me at a flower and garden show in Melbourne. I did doctor it up a bit to eliminate the distracting background. These flowers are not only stunning, but they are huge!

I have an adopted Grandfather who lives in Melbourne on Hereford Rd. He just turned 93. I met him in 1987 when he was touring the U.S. We hit it off and have been pen pals ever since. I went over on college break in 92 for 2 months and a week. I seen quite a lot. We went from Melbourne to Sydney, making stops along the way.

Wow, that's an interesting story. Are you planning to visit him one more time. What an adventure that must have been.

Yes, it was a wonderful trip. I seen quite a lot while I was there. I got to hold and touch koalas and kangaroos. I went to both the Melbourne Zoo and Sydney Zoo. I went to Koala Park and Pebbly Beach. I won't be able to go back. I'm very very poor and have quite a lot of debt due to health issues.

He and I try to correspond as much as possible, but he's really getting old (93) and doesn't write much. He has glaucoma and some other health issues as well. I miss him a lot and will always treasure my visit over there.

Hi Sarah, so sorry that you have health issues and struggle financially. Hope your health and fortune with take a turn for better in 2008. Do you mind me asking how old you are?

Why did you want to know how old I am? You got me curious now

I was just wondering if you are close to my age. It's no big deal. I'm 51. It's no secret.

thank you, that is so kind. I was just lucky with this photo. Lighting is everything, and a happy smile is probably the best face lift in the world.

Re: your above question. I was just wondering if you are older, because a lot of older people have health issues. I see you are only 39. You are only a puppy, as my husband used to say to me a long time ago. Usually I don't ask people for their age, but I often wonder, because when you meet someone in the street you instantly see them, and can tell their age. It's natural to know a person's age when you talk to them.

Oh, you had me curious, I thought you were going to imply some wisdom on me and a secret way to get rid of the aches and pains or something. No, I don't mind you asked. I have it out there for all to read in my journal and information page.

Ha, ha, nah, I promise I won't impart any of my wisdom, unless I get to know you a lot better.
I didn't notice your age on your profile page...mind you my eyes are getting pretty bad lately.
No worries!
