Description     Loch Ness Monster! Scotland x Reader

Your five year old son, Angus, was sitting at the front door, waiting for his papa to come home after work. You smiled at the sight of your little boy, who did this almost every day he could, without fail. He loves his papa so much, that he was willing to do just about anything for him, all he had to do was be asked. It made you giggle a bit.
"Angus," you called with your soothing voice, "why don't you come over here and let mommy tell you a story to pass the time until papa gets home from work?" That caught his attention immediately, as he scrambled to his feet and ran to where you sat, reading a book. His eager face was upturned to yours, his green eyes glittering with excitement.
"You tell the best stories, mama!! Please, please, please tell me a story!! I'll be a good boy an' I won't squirm or nothin'!" he said, smiling brightly. you laughed lightly and ruffled his bright red hair, which made him look almost like a complete copy of his father.
"Yes, yes, I'll tell you a story. Come sit on the couch with me, and I'll start soon enough. Settle down!"
Once Angus had properly positioned himself around you and your swollen stomach, of which he had a great fascination, you thought for a moment. What story would you tell this time? Another made up fable? Angus was always fond of those fanciful tales you spun on the spot with colorful places and magic entwined with each sentence. But you didn't feel particularly creative tonight, so a real life story it was.
A smile curled on your (s/t) lips. You knew exactly the story to tell him, with just enough magic to keep him interested, but completely real at the same time. It did have a touch of romance, which he hated, but this one would be different than any other romance you had told him.
"Let me tell you the story of how I met the Loch Ness Monster. It started back when I was just a little girl, no bigger than you...."

         ~Flashback~

You stood on the shore of the Loch Ness Lake or lore, merely five years old, with a mind bursting with imagination. You had heard the story of the Loch Ness Monster, and you wanted to meet this creature. The stories were good, but you needed proof! Since your parents were staying in Scotland for a little while, you could visit almost daily! You smiled to yourself as you pattered down the beach in your little (f/c) one piece decorated with (2nd f/c) flowers. Your (h/c) hair was tousled by the light breeze that went by as the warm sand squished under your toes.
The day was perfect for monster hunting in your opinion, and you would use this day to your advantage. You checked all around the beach first. No tracks or anything, but you didn't give up! You swam out into the waters and started searching there. Unfortunately, you were not a strong swimmer, and the waters had pulled you out further than you thought you had gone. before you knew it, you were in the midst of the lake, struggling to stay up above the water's surface. Panic surged through you, and your parents were left unaware on the shore.
As you slipped under the water, your legs too tired to support you anymore and your arms slowing in their motion, a dark shape passed under you, unbeknownst to your still form. Said shape scooped you up and put you in a small cave out of sight from most of the lake. You were unconscious, but you would be fine.
When you opened your (e/c) eyes, a large, gray-green, scaled face was right in yours. You screamed and the beast moved away swiftly and a loud, yet high pitched. accented voice filled the air.
"Ow!! Did ya haf to yell righ' in mah ear?? Tha's no way ta treat the person who saved ya!!" You looked up to see a boy, perhaps a few years older than you, holding his ears. His red hair was tufted everywhere and messy, his emerald eyes giving you a hard glare. You blinked, where was the scary green thing? It was there a second ago.
"That was me, you idiot!! I can see the question in yer eyes!! I'm the monster known as Nessie!!" the boy yelled, confusing you.
"But you're human," you piped up, "you can't be the monster because you're not that weird scary thing I just saw!!"
He glared at you, then proceeded to explain in detail to you who he was and how he could shift forms. He was born as the eldest son of the main family branch who had all carried the title of the "Loch Ness Monster". As the eldest son, he was to become the monster of legend, and was expected to practice his abilities continuously, though he longed for other things. His life was prolonged due to the need for him to properly pass the line on, though he had mentioned that he didn't fully know what that meant yet. His brothers and other family would not outlive him, which would make him very lonely in the long run. All of this story was told as if the boy, whose name was Allistor, was angry, but sadness glinted in his eyes when he mentioned his family.
You listened very carefully, not forgetting anything that came out of his mouth as to not seem rude. Allistor seemed to be very grateful for your company, as he seemed to be lonely already, despite his young age. When he finished speaking, he looked down at the floor of the cave.
"Can I be your friend? I won't ever forget about you or make fun of you, and I'll even visit you as much as I can!" you said, a bright smile on your face. Allistor seemed surprised at this proposal, but your smile was infectious, and he started smiling too.
"Sure! Let's go to my house! I'll let you meet my mum an' pa! But we should probably go to your mum an' pa firs' so they can stop worryin' about you."

         ~End Flashback~

"So Nessie was a boy?" Angus asked, tilting his head cutely as you paused for breath. You smiled at him and kissed his forehead.
"Yes, Nessie was a boy, but the story isn't finished yet. Settle down so I can finish the story for you." Angus snuggled back into your side, cuddling you and his unborn brother or sister gently. You smiled wider and continued.

         ~Flashback #2~

It had been eight years since the day you met Allistor, and you two were the best of friends. You had helped him with his abilities, and helped cope with his loneliness. His brothers, Dylan, Seamus, and Arthur treated you like a sister, and brought you up as if you were family, because you were at their house most of the time anyways. But now, you were gloomy, upset with your parents' decision to move back to (c/n)< your birth country. You sat in the grass outside of the Kirkland house, trying to figure out how to tell them that you had to leave for pretty much forever. A voice interrupted your thoughts.
"Lass? What are ye doin' out 'ere? Why don't you come in?" Allistor stood over you, looking down at you with a frown. You sighed and lay back on the grass, motioning for Allistor to join you. He did so, looking very confused.
"Allie...," you started, your voice cracking a bit, "you and I are best friends forever, right? We won't forget each other, even if we get separated?" Allistor nodded, though he didn't get the point. You sat up and wiped away tears from your face.
"My parents are making me move back to (c/n) with them.... I-I don't want to leave, but I have no choice, they won't let me stay...," you whispered. Allistor was silent, then stood up, his face hardened and expressionless. You tried to say something, but he stormed inside, his famous temper flaring up again. Your heart sank as you watched him disappear back into his house, slamming the door behind him. A few minutes later, no movement came from the house, so you assumed that they now did not want to talk to you, even little Arthur who adored you as if you were an older sister.
You slowly stood up and started to walk home, head hung low. Your best friend was snubbing you, after eight years of being friends. It stung you greatly to walk away from him, but you couldn't face him after he turned you away like that. You figured you would just go home and pack for the next few days.

         ~End Flashback #2~

Angus looked up at you with his big green eyes and asked, "So you left Nessie by himself? But I thought tha' you'd stay best friends with him! It sounded like it was goin' to be tha' way!" His eyes shone with disappointment. You could tell that he wanted the story to end well, but was not going the way he wanted it to go. You smoothed his wild hair back, though it still remained as fluffy and unruly as ever.
"Well, the story still isn't finished quite yet, so would you like me to keep going?" you offered Angus. He looked down and pouted, but seemed to consider what you said.
"Does it have a happy endin' to it?" he asked, looking back up at you. You nodded, and he instantly snuggled back into you, ready to hear more.

         ~Flashback #3~

Even though you were now a young woman of 23, with beautiful shining (metaphorical h/c) hair, bright (e/c) eyes, and a lovely figure, you had never once had a steady relationship. Each and every one had ended poorly and you couldn't get one person out of your head. it had been ten years since you last saw him, but you wondered how Allistor had been doing. In all the years you had been apart, you never once forgot him, just like you promised.
You thought about him so often, that he was starting to become a distraction in your everyday life, especially when you were working in your studio as an artist. Your hands automatically created what you thought he looked like now when your mind drifted to him. He was, in essence, your muse, even though you had not seen him in ten long years. You had several notebooks filled with drawings of possibilities of what he could look like now, but none seemed just right.
You eventually decided that you had to clear your mind from the clutter you had back home in (c/n), and went on a vacation. You remembered the place where you met him, right by the shore of the famed Loch Ness Lake, which had also been your childhood home for a long time. After a long time, you decided that you would travel there instead of other places you had considered.
When you arrived in Scotland, the first place you visited was the Loch Ness Lake. You stood on the shore and let the wind tousle your (h/l) (h/c) hair, just like it had eighteen years ago, when you met Allistor. The memory brought a smile to your face, and you waded into the waters for a little relaxing swim. You lazily swam about, relishing in the feel of the cool water caressing your skin. For a little while, everything slipped away from your mind and you drifted without a care in the world. The peaceful atmosphere was soothing you, mind and body, until you were nearly sleeping on the surface of the lake.
A sudden undercurrent awoke you, and you sat up, (e/c) eyes snapping open. Nothing had changed around you, the air still as calm and peaceful as ever but something had changed. You looked around at the waters and held still. Another undercurrent swept under you, vanished, and the surface of the water rippled. A large, scaly, green-gray beast rose up from the water, looking you directly in the face. Your eyes widened as you realized that this was the Loch Ness Monster, and your best friend.
"Allistor..?" you asked, lifting a hand up to him. He dipped his head to your hand and touched his nose to it gently. You stroked his nose gently and smiled softly. Allistor vanished under the water again, and came up under you so that you were now on his back, and took you to the shore again. You clambered off his back and turned back towards him, only to see Allistor standing there, shirtless and in his swim trunks, with water dripping from his fiery hair and his arms crossed. You gulped a little bit. Even when he was mad at you, he was much hotter than you had originally thought he was, and all your drawings couldn't compare to how he was now.
His emerald green eyes were just as bright and compelling as they were all those years ago. The flaming red hair as unkempt as it always was, and his face was was well chisled, as though by an expert hand. Your heart started to speed up just looking at him.
"It's been a long time, lass, hasn' it?" he said, his voice now a deep bass tone that made you shiver slightly. You found yourself unable to speak for a moment, but then you managed to speak up.
"It has been.... I've missed you Allistor," you said softly, silently cursing yourself that you had actually said that out loud. He nodded and looked away from you. The silence held for several minutes, making you more and more nervous as each second ticked past. He finally looked up at you again, his face a light shade of pink.
"Aem.... Well, do ye want to catch up fer a wee bit? it has been ten years since we last saw each other, and I'm sure there's lots to talk about." You pondered his offer, before smiling.
"Yes, that'd be really nice, Allistor. I'd love to catch up with you, I'll actually be here for a while, I'm on vacation here in Scotland for a few months, so we have plenty of time."
"Well, would ye like to talk about it over coffee sometime? I know a really nice place," he offered, his face even pinker than it was before. You blushed as well and nodded, your heart picking up its pace.

         ~End Flashback #3~

Your story was interrupted by the sound of the front door opening and closing, which caught Angus' attention immediately. He sprung off the couch and ran straight to the front door as fast as his little legs would carry him. You could already picture the smile on both Angus and your husband's faces as you very carefully got up.
"There's my wee little sprout! were ye a good boy for yer mum?" came the bass toned voice of the one and only Allistor Kirkland. You made your way over to the hallway, where Allistor stood, holding Angus in his arms, blowing a raspberry on the boy's exposed tummy, making him squeal with delight. You smiled at the sight of your husband and son, and walked over to the pair. Allistor looked up and grinned boyishly when he saw you.
"Hello there lovely, did ye rest up like I told ye to?" he asked after giving you a quick kiss. You rolled your eyes at the pet name he had given you.
"Yes, I did, just as you've told me for the past three weeks to do. I honestly think you're starting to worry more over they baby than I am, and you're not the one carrying them!" you teased, brushing off a bit of dust from his suit's shoulder. He merely chuckled at your words, set Angus down and knelt down to kiss your swollen stomach gently.
"With somethin' as beautiful as this, how do I not worry? It's too precious for me to lose, so I want to protect it, naturally." Allistor stood again and smiled lovingly at you. "So! What were the two of ye up to while I was away?"
"I was just telling Angus the story of how we met, and he seemed to be enjoying listening to the story for once," you told him with a smile. Angus seemed very shocked to hear this bit of information from you.
"Wait, daddy's the Loch Ness Monster??"
"Tha's right lad! Yer very own pa is the one an' only Nessie of legend! How's that for a surprise?" Allistor said with a very wide grin at the little copy of himself. Angus' little mouth dropped open and he was instantly begging his father to show him the abilities that were fabled of Nessie. Allistor laughed and scooped up the little rascal again, ruffling his already messy hair.
"Maybe someday I will, lad, but yer mum is tired, I'm betting. We should let her have a rest before we go off running to the lake again. Ye know that yer little brother or sister is coming soon, so we have to wait a wee bit anyways. I'll show you when they're older, alright?"
Despite the pout on his face and the obvious disappointment in his eyes, Angus agreed to wait until after his baby brother or sister was born, and a little bit older to visit the lake to see his father's abilities in real life. You smiled as Allistor let Angus run off to play with a few toys in the living room.
"The due date is soon, so he won't have to wait for very long, right?" Allistor asked, looking towards you. You looked off to the side, and Allistor paled when he noticed your expression.
"No.... Ye don't mean... right now? Are ye sure??" he asked frantically. You nodded quietly, looking slightly embarrassed. Allistor groaned lightly and scooped up the baby bag by the front door.
"Angus! Grab yer bag that we packed for ye! Yer going to yer Uncle Arthur's for a wee bit!" he called out to your little son, before turning to you. "I'll call Arthur, go ahead to the car. An' I was hoping to change out of my suit too...."
You laughed lightly at him, kissed his cheek, and headed to the car, listening to Angus and Allistor argue over the arrangements of where little Angus staying. Your family was definitely not a normal one, but what could you expect when you were married to the Loch Ness Monster?

[Excellent job, I really liked it. It was a ver creative idea to imagine Scotland/Allistor Kirkland as the Loch Ness Monster, that was my most favorite part of the whole story, believe me. Double thumbs up, this story should deserve more intention!]
