This is what happens when your two favorite anime's decide to crossover with each other.

The Azumanga Daioh cast takes over for the Tokyo Mew Mew. Deciding which characters to match up was kinda' hard, since there was more than one possibility for some (Chioh in particular), but here's the reasoning I finally settled on.

From left to right:

Pudding/Kagura-both are very athletic

Mint/Osaka-more than once, Osaka has daydreamed about flying, so who better than to be the bird girl

Berry/Tomo-Berry's motto is, "Being full of energy is the most important thing", and that's pretty much Tomo's motto as well. (Mew Berry was exclusive to the "A la Mode" manga.)

Lettuce/Kaorin-both are very shy and quiet

Ringo/Chioh-Chioh was a tough choice. Originally, she was going to be Pudding, since both are the youngest characters, but Pudding's very athletic, while Chioh is anything but. So, Ringo won out in the end. Plus, Ringo has the DNA of a penguin, and Chioh is famous for wearing a penguin costume. (Mew Ringo was exclusive to the video game.)

Zakuro/Yomi-Yomi doesn't get as much spotlight as the other characters, and neither does Zakuro, so both come off as the lone wolf types to me.

Ichigo/Sakaki-Sakaki loves cats, so who better to be than the cat girl
