A gift art for of her half Falmer, half Dwemer character, Ruby!

I got a great tip from her on a place to get my own model designs from a program called "Design Doll", and it has been a godsend for being able to put ideas into a physical pose and - ultimately - onto paper! I've been enjoying the program so much that I wanted to draw one of her characters first (using Design Doll to set the pose) as a way of saying thank you for recommending the program! As usual, I inked it through MS Paint, but for the first time in a while, I updated and opened up my Corel Paint Shop Pro in order to color it.

She is the first "mer" that I've ever drawn and I was happy I got the ears looking right... and it was the first time I had to do a lip shade (since she has full lips)... but I feel like I made her forehead too long, and for whatever reason, I struggled with her dimples. But overall, I think it still looks okay.

Ruby loves flowers, so of course I wanted to have her holding a basket with some inside. I didn't really want to put a lot of time into random flowers, so I did three that are of significance to the story: the golden lily on the left represents a reference to Lillith- the deceased Altmer fiancé of Sebastian (Ruby's love); a pink glowing flower in the middle that was altered by Sebastian with a special pink serum and was given to her as a gift (so that it would never die); and a Crimson Nirnroot on the right represents the fact that she knew of the plant as a child living as a slave in the Dwemer city of Bthar-zel (and how their musical notes are a connection to the universe, in which the tonal architects - and her father - were striving to understand).

Her dress is the outfit she was in while she was dating Sebastian (it's my favorite). And I picked her background to be shades of light purple and pink since those tended to be colors she favorited whenever she made clothing.

I had great fun drawing and coloring her! And I hope you enjoy this little fan gift!
