Description So I followed my sister's advice (well lots of people's, but it was my sister that I finally listened to) and devoted an hour to myself and my own creative projects every day rather than focus all my time on my students. I think it was good advice - I'm definitely saner (if not sane) these days. And as a result, I managed to complete a project during the school year!!! Its truly a miracle even though she took four weeks (in the summer she'd probably take three days).

The Ariel sprite is from some online card game that I stumbled upon on accident. Its technically a Kingdom Hearts sprite, but I'm way more into the little mermaid myself! I have no idea how to play this card game as the instructions are all in EspaΓ±ol! They have all kinds of awesome sprites on their cards, many of which I will probably be stitching sometime in the future!!

She's stitched using DMC thread on 14 count canvas.

I really like this! Did you just zoom into the page and count the pixels and guess as best you could for the colors? I like the sprites, i'm just not sure how to go about stitching them...

Yup! That's pretty much how I do it. I have learned that getting the exact right color is not really all that important. Its about getting the right relationship between different shades of a color. And I do own like all 451/454 DMC colors so that definitely helps.

You can also get a program though that will create a pattern and match colors for you. I've never used it because I never felt I needed to so I don't know how well it works. In any case, good luck. ^_^
