Description Drawing isn't as fun as it used to be... I mean I still do it and I still like it to somewhat. But I have been takeing art school classes every saturday left and right, hopeing to improve my drawing techniques.. But on the first day of the art school, my teacher told me that my drawing techniques are all wrong, and everything I learned from my other tutors and teachers are all a waste. I know this is just another sign to start over, but I don't think there is one specific way to draw something. Everyone should have different styles of drawing and don't need to follow a specific rule to draw something perfectly. Besides, humans are never perfect. It's been hard to start over, and I don't know if I should walk the path of an artist if I'm not good enough to even master the basics yet. It would be nice to get support from my family, but all they have yet to tell me is "You either do it right, or just throw it all away and give up on yourself." My brother has never given me a single compliment about my art, since he has no interest. My mom is too busy and have to deal with work, and my dad is just always negative about me when I ask for a little compassion. My only friend who talks to me doesn't give any attention to my drawings and just says it's good when I ask for an opinion on it. But I know people say it's good because they don't want to hurt my feeling. I still want to draw, but it's killing me inside that no one wants to show any appreciation toward my hard work. This is one of my hardships I'm rotting away from and I just needed to get it out somewhere. I just hope I continue to draw dispite that lack of encoragement I get from the peers around me...

Your art teacher is NOT a true art teacher and SHOULDN'T be an art teacher. I think your drawings are beautiful. And this piece is absolutely adorable. C'mere. *hugs you securely and rubs your back*

Don't EVER listen to things like that. There is no wrong way to draw! That is just a load of B.S. that your teacher gave you!

Dude you know you always have my support. I've always loved your pics and always will xD

Your teacher was wrong, the minute he said that your other teachers were wrong, you can never learn wrong in art, you can only build onto what you already know and hope to use it.

Don't force yourself to draw, it won't be as great as drawing when you feel like drawing xD

Remember, you always have friends that care xD

DAMN IT YOON-SUL!!! (not katsurii's name btw) Your drawings should be where you put all that angst that you can't handle, not be the cause of it...
And as for THIS "my teacher told me that my drawing techniques are all wrong, and everything I learned from my other tutors and teachers are all a waste" whomever it is probably from one of the more stricter art schools (type of art style not an actual art school) learn their style, but quietly foster your previous style (ps. it's a total bxxxh to do both)
@sighs@ 'sides she, "my only friend who talks to me", doesn't REALLY talk to anyone, you know, always working on her homework...

and I'm sorry for always totally bashing your art, I mean it truthfully.

Well the question you should ask is what is it you draw for, mainly we all wonder what we are drawing for but end up making ourselves confused, stressed or empty.
It's not all safey puffs in just a empty canvas, when dealing with a situation like this it'll have to take thinking, what am I drawing and what purpose is it for my drawing abilities. Ones you know what it's about you may successfully do what is needed

Now I have no idea what I had said but I hope I helped a bit :v

*Just replied to the Tegaki entry*
The only thing that is wrong is that you're drawing to please others, not to please yourself. Art, drawing and such are somehow the reflection of your soul, not the soul of others. 2D/traditional artists doesn't get the appreciation neither respect they really deserve totally nowadays, so people often discourage them, which is a total shame. You must draw for fun and for your peace of mind, not for obligation. I may not have graduated neither have taken any art lessons, but in my opinion, your teacher is totally the wrong one here. Your art is beautiful and very well made, and I'm not saying that to "not hurt your feelings", I'm not this type of fake person, actually, when it's plausible, I even give some advices if I can when I'm asked. If you really love drawing and it's a passion of yours, go ahead with it no matter how much people try to put you down. Art is something people can't live without, because it's the beauty of a soul. Remember, draw for your own pleasesure, not for the pleasure of yours: [link]
