You know what's awesome? Being a Vanguard, then attack those things with charge - they fly away so the explosion doesn't hit you (didn't try it on a possessed one, though)
But if the team has a sniper... man, I raged so much when a random shot killed them just before I get them with charge - and then sudden BOOM. Good thing I was with a krogan...
