Odono Clive never liked the Galactic Republic. A highly vocal opponent of Senator Onaconda Farr, Odono Clive turned his back on Rodia, and found work in the galaxy as a freelance fighter pilot. When the Clone Wars broke out, he was recruited into the Confederacy of Independent Systems. At first, he worked as a shuttle pilot, ferrying Separatist officials from one place to another. However, as the conflict dragged on, the Separatists began acquiring actual starfighters, and manning them with whatever pilots they could scrounge together. These rare organic fighter squadrons were not often seen, but that did not stop them from seeing action. Odono was assigned as the weapons officer of one of the few ARC-170 heavy starfighters that the Separatists had acquired. This was when he met Tharkast, a Trandoshan pilot who once flew hunter ships on expeditions to hunt Wookiees. The two hit it off as friends immediately. Their rear gunner was a geonosian, from the corps of geonosian fighter pilots that had been provided courtesy of Poggle the Lesser. Though this rear gunner did his job adequately, but since he did not socialize, Odono and Tharkast virtually ignored him outside of missions. Ultimately, their ARC-170 was destroyed in combat. Though the two friends were injurred, they survived to fight again. Odono and Tharkast felt for their geonosian gunner's death, despite the fact that they didn't even know his name, thanks to the fact that he never socialized with them. They replaced their ARC-170 with a Y-Wing fighter bomber. They were glad that their R5 astromech droid survived the destruction of their ARC-170. The plucky droid had proven invaluable in helping them fly their ARC-170. Though they kinda missed their geonosian gunner, they commemorated him by getting back out there and continuing the fight against the Republic.
