Just finished painting up the amazing ~mikecollins 's HEROES pic for the charity Draw the World Together to sell and sign prints at Birminghams Memorabilia Show this weekend comming. Where I will be drawing for the charity too
So if you're around in the area and fancy buying a print or a sketch to raise money for Every child then pop in and say hello! - You'll also be able to buy prints of Mike's original pencil version too!! NB: It should go without saying, but please do not copy or distribute without permission, this piece belongs to the charity Draw the world toger charity, and I believe the character copyrights belong to © NBC Universal, Inc.

yeah, it was a fair investment that one.. worth it though, the prints sold like hotcakes at the show and we raised lots of pounds for the charity! ^_^
PLUS, I have it on good information that the guy who played the cop, Matt Parkman, loved it!

I wonder if you know this guy Mattahan ? I know him because of the Custom Icons he paints for Mac OS X and pcs but he also does some really nice cartoons. He's just added a bundle of them you see so it made me wonder. Here's a nice one [link]

I think for me the trick was learning to use the right side of my brain to produce high detailed art instead of the left... - it's much better equipped with high detail and longer-burning projects.. the left side of our brains is too impatient and desieres immediate results -_-

Yeah. I know. I need to work harder with my right brain. I'm so used to working with my left in cartooning XD.... Though, when I sit down to do a more detailed piece like "Fairway at Turtle Creek" watercolor---I'm using that right brain of mine. --I just need more practice

You deffinately should look into it, because using your right brain will seriously improve your cartooning too!! (just like knowing anatomy will improve your ability to animate, even though your characters "break" the rules of anatomy) - that fairway painting you did shows me how much potential you have as an artist if you can break from from the symbolic and dominating left brain, it's really not much good for artwork, but that painting was fantastic, and I wouldn't have guessed that it was one of yours (cos it looked so different to everything else in your gallery).
I'd deffinately reccomend working through the book "drawing on the right side of the brain" if you haven't already

I'm working on it I'll have to upoad two of my newest right-brain work today--I did a charcoal still life and a pencil rendering of my doornob. Metalic objects are my favorite thing to do. It was time consuming,but It was alot of fun

Me and my family usually go, we usually buy tickets on the day, so hopefully we should be going again. I booked time off work, so i aint gonna check if they given it to me or not, its booked, their problem not mine.
Its a harsh place for art i would say. You dont see many actual artists down there. Its practically a huge forbidden planet and collectors shop. Usually find bargains, so I like very much
