Inspired by (but no way near as beautiful as) `loish 's sketch pages I decided to have a go at doing something similar, and stuck together some of the monstery type doddles that I've done over the past month or so. A rag-tag bunch of odd doodles and sketches, some done in pencil but most of them pen and then touched up in photoshop.Normally stuff like this doesn't leave my sketchbook (with good reason!) but in an effort to get myself back into drawing more often I may well start doing stuff like this on a more regular basis.
I would quite happily doodle stuff like this all day long if it paid the bills.

Great work - especially the dragon on the centre left.
My only complaint is that none of your monsters are particularly nasty looking, smaller eyes (or indeed no eyes) and maybe a few more craggy details would help I think.

maybe that's cos I don't want them to be nasty looking. - I don't dig the whole "beasts are bad because they're not civilized like people" vibe.. I see animals (and monsters/beasts/dragons/whatever) have just as much life/potential for emotion as we do, and often behave with more caring/compassion. If you want to read/see of scary beasts just read the news paper... people (humans) scare me infinitely more than the creepiest animals do!

My assumption was based purely on the name you gave it (monsters is implicitly nasty (eg, serial killers are monsters) where as creatures is the more neutral term (Dragons are creatures) - at least by my usual logic).
Obviously if your creatures weren't meant as nasty little things then my sole criticism is largely unneccessary.

Cookie Monster steals peoples cookies (it's covered up but he's an addict and he can't help himself) - is there anything more brutal than to leave someone devoid of chocolate chips..
And don't get me started on the Honeymonster - you ever wondered where the children in the advert disappear to afterwards?

Never underestimate the doodle. It's sometimes where the gold is. Even enough to pay the bills.
