Description This is a sketch I cooked up yesterday that I liked so much I went and inked it. There are a few size irregularities, but overall this is a complete list of all the free world guardians present on earth at the time Dark Days on the Dunes takes place. There are other, more wild creatures that serve very near roles, but these guys are all (with one exception) somewhat man-made in their origin. Whether they are the undying UN Defenders made at the time of the Ragido arc, or ancient guardians left long to sleep, or accidental mutations that wound up benefitting mankind, they all defend mankind as actively as they can. Now, some of these were on a previous work, but those were only guardians for North and South America. THIS time, I managed to fit all the guardians I have concocted. They go, as follows:

(Top Far Left) Unum: A monster I have mentioned a lot, even in Dark Days. One of DH's three main monsters, a technorganic guardian capable of going anywhere and doing anything he needs to. Full details will be released soon.

(Top Mid Left) Zacromas: For the scientific, Zacromas is a genetic hybrid of Acrocanthosaurus and Zatomus. For the not, he's a mutated dinosaurian monster set with the task of a Ranger, frequently going about the countryside patrolling for danger.

(Top Mid Right) Vultyra: Another guardian of sorts, a hybrid between a Tyrannosaurus and a Turkey Vulture, bred to go about scavenging on dead kaiju flesh in North America. In a surprise twist of fate, she has proven a successful mate to Zacromas, and the two fight together frequently.

(Top Far Right) Micromas: The child of Zacromas and Vultyra, a mutant of rather unique appearance who has the body of his mother and the mind of his father. He is young still, but America has high hopes for him.

(2nd Row, Far Left) Vibrass: After Zacromas' creation, people realized that unlike Unum, he needed to be fed. A sister project similar to the one that birthed the dino bred a herbivorous mutant to serve the role. The first prototype, working with herbivorous dinosaurs, produced this guy, Vibrass, who proved too tough for the carnivore to kill. Especially when some unique traits of his mutation started to kick in. . .

(2nd Row, Mid Left) Rastratus: Before Zacromas was created, the people of America desired a guardian that was not 'just a dumb big lizard' like many of the wild monsters to appear. Geneticists worked with other sources, eventually coming up with the most adaptable animal on the planet, the brown rat. But, one scientist added gorgonopsid dna in as well for toughness, and a self serving proto-guardian that never did his job much. Zacromas, created afterwards, proved heroic, curing the herpephobia and putting the rat in his place.

(2nd Row, Mid Right) Quetzee: A 1st Gen. Guardian created during the Ragido arc, a strange mutated blend of Spider Monkey and several species of Amazon birds. She utilizes osteokinesis to grow wings from her fingers, and possesses a surprisingly effective brain. She cannot truly talk, but the phrases she's memorized make you think otherwise.

(2nd Row, Far Right) Globbie: The only non-man made guardian, Globbie was a soldier used by the Salvgar in their 2nd invasion of earth. She(?) was beaten in combat and slowly began to love earth, though why that is will remain classified for now.

(3rd Row, Far Left) Uktena: After started the mythical beast mount idea, I decided to look into kaijufying the beast I picked out, the mythical Cherokee horned serpent Uktena. He is a more mystical guardian of the land, though after duking it out with Zacromas the two became the best of friends and often fought together when given the chance.

(3rd Row, Mid Left) Gibsly: DH's own King Kong homage, Gibsly is a mutated hybrid of man and gibbon, with intelligence and agility vers surprising for one his size. I like drawing him in that crouching pose, as often as I do it.

(3rd Row, Center) Silas Mcreery: A former PHD scientist that, in a fit of anger destroyed a laboratory containing all of the prototype blood serum within it. The exposure to the chemicals mutated him into a large demonoid mutant, and he escaped into the Sonoran Desert to hide. He was found and imprisoned, but slowly came around to becoming a defender of mankind.

(3rd Row, Mid Right) Amaranth: Effectively DH's Mothra homage, an ancient book scorpion homonculus created by a Renaissance man that accidentally stumbled upon the creation of a philosophers stone. She is ancient, undying, and filled with a unique power unlike any other.

(3rd Row, Far Right) Arawn: Named after a mythical Hell Hound, Arawn is a genetically created guardian created after the Ragido arc to fill in the void created by Fafnir. She is a loyal breed, selflessly putting herself in rough spots to defend the land of Britain. Able to utilize osteokinesis much like her fellow UN Defenders.

(4th Row, Far Left) Fafnir: While the biggest of the guardians, Fafnir is far from the best. He is a proud destructive being capable of destruction and destruction alone. Thus, the UN decided, (when a new enemy found itself at their doorstep) to utilize the mutant dragon as a guard dog, imprisoning him in the mountains of Eastern Europe to intimidate potential Eastern aggressors.

(4th Row, Far Right ((Fafnir takes up a lot of space ))) Dedun and Sekhmet: Dedun was the first success of the UN Guardian initiative, a mutated lion raised to be a defender. At one point, he was badly defeated by the champion of a distant land, and lost his will to continue defending. Thus, a lioness in his pride named Sekhmet was mutated to a state similar to the alpha male, and she took leadership while he recovered and also succeeded in getting the lion back on his feet. Every bit his equal, she fights alongside him whenever the two are called.

(5th Row, Left)Bunyip: Created as a genetic amalgam guardian of Australia, Bunyip is still doing the defending job 1000 years later, though he frequently recieves help from the more heroic members of the local wildlife.

(5th Row, Middle)Ahool: Named after a Bornean sky demon, Ahool is a hybrid of bat and bear, able to fly from island to island via osteokinesis in order to properly defend Indonesia from attack.

(5th Row, Right) Prigellia: One of the last of the 1st generation serum's was given to Thailand, but before they could properly use it, the land was invaded by a powerful new world empire. They hastily mutated an infant stingray of unknown species, and freed her into the sea. She would grow to immense sizes as a giant stingray should, and she became a powerful aquatic guardian to Indonesia and Australia due to her memories of the people that created her.

(6th Row, Left) Kappa IV: One of the original osteokinetic UN Defending monsters, Kappa was gravely injured in a fight with a nanomachine swarm and was cyborrically altered. Now, 1000 years, and many tuneups later, Kappa IV is actively defending Japan from its rather nasty locals. However, the model may just be starting to get a little old. . .

(6th Row, Middle) Pelagion: One of the first gen. guardians made to defend a secret UN research silo in Antarctica. Granted, the scientists were under attack by the local wildlife and didn't have much time to create anything more than a few simple augmentations, so the beast has had to cope with being mostly just a giant member of its own kind.

(6th Row, Right) Bahamut II: The original Bahamut, while powerful, was destroyed by a super weapon in a great war that ravaged the planet. A second one, much improved while still using the original's DNA as a source, has been actively defending the seas ever since, and with all the aquatic monsters out there, he has a pretty extensive job.

And that about does it.

This is the best I have to upload right now, so enjoy, and tell me what you think. I plan on uploading a few more inked designs in the near to far future.

Also, only a little more than one month left for the contest, so if you have an entry in mind you better get crackin'.

All in all, very awesome.

My fave has to be Vultyra, though the other saurian themed kaiju are a close second.

LOL And congrats on making a dog kaiju that actually looks like something other than a wolf. A change is severely needed.

An awesome looking line up as always, Crim!

I have to say the one I'm most looking forwards to is the sting/manta ray kaiju you got there.

Prigellea? Yeah, stingrays are pretty rare in the kaiju field. They make a great substitute for the abundance of sharks, so I have a feeling people will use them more before long.

She's a mutated giant freshwater stingray, though she can move about much like a manta, she can even go on land for a surprisingly long time.

I've only seen one kaiju sting ray on DA and it's the one from "Godzilla the Series" but so far I haven't seen any original stingrays outside of sketches and ideas.

I'm guessing she "flows" over teh ground like a carpet?

Oh and congrats on the very awesome and unique looking ankylosaur, for one reason or another they are a very rarely used kaiju arch type, there's maybe five in all of DA, not counting any turtle look alikes or redesigns of Anguirus.
