Inspired by one of my favorite Greek folklore stories
of Alexander's the Great Gorgona (mermaid)
asking sailors one question: "Is King Alexander alive?"
If the answer was no she would stir up storms doom ships and every sailor on board

This is very special to me
one of my favorite mermaid stories my grandmother in Greece used to share with me
when i was little and loved it many theories and stories surround this gorgona
love to illustrate more about this story

whats another coincidence with this painting ,there is an Italian
island in tuscany i believe named Gorgona , my model is from Italy
it all kinda worked out
