I never used to be a fan of abstract paintings and it was always something I hid. That changed quite a few years back when I actually studied abstract artists and realized that they were creating art from a place I had never tapped before, artistically.Going through some emotionally draining times has allowed me to tap a place I haven't been able to access with my photography for a while. I'm a control-freak.. especially when it comes to my own emotions. It's a defense mechanism because as long as my guard is up I can be strong and do what needs to be done. The therapeutic "bloodletting" activities that used to help me maintain my sanity are just a dark place that I'm too scared to go to anymore.
But... this was uncontrolled... my entire world had narrowed entirely to chaos, mania, anger, frustration, and unchecked pain. I was able to maintain focus only long enough to tape down the rectangular masking you see as the frame and from that point on was carried away on a flood of emotions.
I don't know what to think of the result because the only thing I know was that I needed this and the rest is up to the viewer.

I like this a lot, I always prefer traditional works when it's about splatters, I really love the composition and colors, great texture, too.

The title is absolutely provocative. I think without that it would be visually interesting, but that title just draws me into it and makes this something beautiful and sinister, half angelic and half syrupy with darkness. Very cool. I'm drawn to that center like to a much needed rest or to something worse than damnation.
