Description
Sooo Halloween is coming closer and closer so I remembered this small piece I had made with the fortune-teller maker a long time ago so I thought this is a nice theme to give some Halloween essence here!
Wow it's been a while since the last time I posed random AU-like stuff from W.I.T.C.H!
Fortune-Teller Maker belongs to Rinmaru Games
W.I.T.C.H belong to their creators and Disney/Jetix
Will: Pendulum Reader
Will is a Pendulum reader. She can find lost things or people by using crystals or pendulums over maps etc. People come to her usually when they have lost something or someone and they ask for help. However it has often happened to her that she was requested to locate someone's destined partner. This department is the hardest and most uncertain area for her.
Inspiration: Her power was inspired partly by the anime Shaman King (Lyzerg's power was locating stuff with his pendulum). Also the pendulum reminds me of the Heart of Kandrakar and the power to locate also indicates Will's powers to either locate the Portals over the map as well as sense Meridian/Metamoor creatures when they ascend on Earth.
Her clothing were inspired by her simple style and the more "comfortable clothing" but with the essence of bohemic details. The reddish color was inspired by the Heart of Kandrakar and her power color (mostly in the comics)
Cornelia: Dream Interpreter
Cornelia's main power of fortunetelling is the area of dreams. People come to her when they have some dream that disturbed them and want an interpretation of their fate. Cornelia's insight and usually her perfect balance between superficial indifference and hidden sensitivity usually helps her keep a clear head to their demands. Dreams she interprets might shed light in past, present or future
Inspiration: Cornelia's powers here were clearly inspired by the comic universe where not only she found Caleb because of her dreams but she also has a dream of herself hearing the voices of Earth telling them to follow in the extra issue "The Year Before". Despite the fact that generally Cornelia appears to be the most difficult to persuade in regards of magic, she didn't seem at all hesitant about following dreams, which was another strong indication of the choice of her power here.
Her clothing were inspired by the classical "beautiful bohemic style" that we see in characters like Esmeralda for example mainly because Cornelia loves all-time-classic and elegant clothes in the main storyline too. The color was obviously inspired by her powers of Earth
Irma: Luck and Numerals
Irma's strength into reading someone's fortune relies on numeric patterns and rolls of dice to get her clients hear of their fortune. She is usually asked for present or immediate feature. She might be asked to see even further but the further away from her the events are, the harder will be for her to figure out with her dice. Her numerals can also show some pretty interesting patterns that show her what another person is like or will be like.
Inspiration: Ironically Irma was never particularly happy about math so the idea of her using numerals sounded fun in my head. Besides I think Irma has also plenty of issues with how school teaches her stuff while in action she is very creative.
Her clothing is actually one of my favorite sets. The combination included some old, European-like bohemian style and I also added the hairband and everything. I liked how the combo ended up. Besides Irma always loved accessories like earrings or rings etc.
The color is obviously inspired by her power on Water
Taranee: Bone Reading
Taranee's choice of fortune-telling is the ancient art of bone reading. She is throwing the bones on a surface and depending where they land, she can determine the future of someone. Like geomancy, the use of bones might include the carving of symbols upon the bones. Like all other forms of fortune-telling, Taranee is consulted for various of purposes, one of the prominient ones being the past and the future. Taranee mainly uses bones that have runes engraved on them to do her job.
Inspiration: Various forms of fortune-telling of ancient worlds were stones and bones or the intestines of animals so I thought the idea of Taranee throwing bones to predict the future would be fitting to her ethic african-like style from the comics. Her style as well was inspired by ethic traditions and african fortune tellers. The colors are not only inspired by her power of Fire but also her actual wardrobe that includes mainly warm colors.
Hay Lin: Tarot Cards
Hay Lin is a tarot reader. As we all know on this form of fortune-telling, Hay Lin is reading the tarrot cards to predict the future, read the past and see some things that occure in the present. Her pleasant and optimistic attitude makes her loved to her clients who often come for some pleasant news. When she has unpleasant readings, Hay Lin tries to break it to her clients as softly as possible.
Inspiration: Tarrot cards have some exotic vibe to them which led me to having her reading them. What's more paper as we know it was originally used in China and therefore Hay Lin being chinese of origin would use something made of paper here Her clothing is inspired by her eccentric fashion, thus including various of different colors, wide sleeves and skirts as well as the playfull tattoo to her cheek.
Soooo....pretty random! No particular story behind it or anything. Maybe the typical adventure type! Hahaha!
