I actually tend to believe Kiara was born before Kopa because though Kopa was featured in the books first, he was not featured in the second movie, which would suggest he was born after Kiara. That's just my opinion.

No one really knows what happened to Kopa. Many people have their theories that Zera killed him and that was why she was banned from the pridelands, but then some believe that he left the pride when it was the proper age and time before Kiara was born.
